July 31, 2014 · 6:30 PM · LIGHT

Washington, D.C., DC

Small object with two green lights and one red light. Hovered for a few moments, moved a few feet sideways and continued hovering. Proceeded to move up and down several times, hovered for a few more moments, then slowly rose out of sight. Witness elects to remain totally anonymous; provides no contact information. PD

July 31, 2014 · 2:45 AM · LIGHT

Federal Way, WA

I was looking at the night's sky over the Tacoma area and watching what I thought was probably a satellite. I was watching it traverse the sky and all of a sudden it started getting brighter and brighter. It got brighter to the point that it was like having a flash light shown right in my face. A very fine white light, but extremely bright. Then, it suddenly changed direction and flew across the sky and out of my view literally within a second. The time was 2:45 a.m. on July 31st 2014.

July 30, 2014 · 10:30 PM · LIGHT

Groton, NH

A bright orange light, soundless, passing SW to NE over Groton. Large and bright. Thought it was Mars initially before it began moving. Then it was gone. Thought maybe satellite or ISS, until 5 mins later, another identical orange light fly over on exact same flight path.

July 30, 2014 · 10:00 PM · LIGHT

Williamstown, NJ

We collectively saw 3 strange multicolored objects hovering. Then one of them shot out a white light then disappeared. The second one disappeared then the third one slowly faded off into the distance. A commercial airplane in the area of the objects was lit up by the white light that shot out of the UFO, as if it was scanning the airplane. There where multiple witnesses who seen this happen. After a few minutes helicopters flew in the same direction as the objects. We where looking north-northeast.

July 29, 2014 · 10:00 PM · LIGHT

Kitty Hawk, NC

The lights were bright red, appeared to be round, and blinked. Once they broke off, they scattered throughout the sky and moved south, fading away in the distance. No sound. We assume a nighttime sighting, and have amended the time above. PD

July 29, 2014 · 2:00 AM · LIGHT

Lumberton, NC

I went outside to smoke and a flashing reddish, blue light that was moving across the sky against the trees caught my attention. The light began to hover for 2-3 min. Then began to fade. Within 30 sec. the light just completely disappeared. Within a 45 sec. to a min. The light would reappear in the same spot starting with a white light that would change to a reddish, blueish, green color. The light began to move from the north to the west very slow, then the process would start all over. When the light would move it would look as if it was three different color lights that were very close to each other but the distance would make it look as if it was one light. As time went on the light was moving away from me and east. At times the light would appear to suddenly drop down a short distance all of a sudden like it was going through terbulance while also moving east. After 2 hrs. the last time it disappeared it never came back. Three other adults other than myself witnessed the entire thing. I live 30 min. south of Ft. Bragg, N.C. And this was not any military aircraft. It was cloudy tonight and the light would reappear in front of the clouds at times so the object was flying below some of the clouds.

July 29, 2014 · 1:30 AM · LIGHT

Irricana (Canada), AB · Canada

01:30 AM, July 29, 2014 Light, white, observed for 2 to 4 seconds (estimated) travelling slowly from SSE to NNW. Observed around 60–70 degrees from horizontal (estimated), disappeared before reaching overhead point. Brilliance equivalent to aircraft landing lights. Only traversed a few degrees of arc before vanishing. Mode of disappearance was odd: imagine a flash-light pointed toward the observer, being tilted up until the light was no longer visible. Cloud cover: Nearly cloudless night, possibly a few high wisps. Moon: None; sighting was two days after new moon. Sound: none. Navigation/running lights/strobe: None observed. Meteor: sighting had none of the characteristics of a meteor: slow movement, no trail. Delayed reporting this until I was reasonably satisfied that it was not a satellite or an aircraft. Believe it was too late at night for a satellite. Subsequent observation of aircraft in the area has shown that navigation lights/strobe lights are quite visible to the naked eye, even on high flying craft. I looked for these lights at the time of the sighting, was not able to observe any. Unfortunately, I did not have field glasses with me at the time. I had the light in sight for two to four seconds, but had just turned to view that section of the sky, so have no idea how long it could have been visible before that.

July 28, 2014 · 10:00 PM · LIGHT

Johnston, RI

At 21:15 or so, I was in my kitchen looking out the window and noticed a glowing dark orange/red sphere in the sky behind the tree line. The object seemed very odd so I made my way outside to observe it further. Whatever it was, the object was heading Northeast at fair amount of speed. I watched it for a good 7-8 minutes before it ultimately accelerated and was quickly out of sight. My house is on a private driveway and the streets were also devoid of any vehicles, so it was very strange, as I have aircraft flying by routinely, but this one had no sound at all and there were no other lights on it.

July 28, 2014 · 1:45 AM · LIGHT

Lola, KY

I had been sitting in my backyard for 30-40 minutes gazing at the stars, when I saw an extremely bright light had appeared in an area that had been clear prior til now. It was brighter and bigger than any star in the sky and had a slight yellow tint. It sat stationary for nearly 1 minute before moving a short distance to the right, then vanishing completely. Just like the light from a bulb does when you flip off a light switch, it was just gone.

July 27, 2014 · 11:45 PM · LIGHT

Beaverton, OR

I saw solid red and green lights (non-blinking)traveling south with the appearance of high altitude. The craft dropped verticle at a rapid rate at 80 degrees beyond the tree/roofline. No sound made whatsoever.

July 27, 2014 · 10:00 PM · LIGHT

Belvidere, VT

This appears to be my second sighting within a year which is really quite exciting. The first was in Honeydew, California, back in October 2013, which was a string of sightings 3 nights in a row, around the same time every night, which lasted for about 5 minutes each time and was pretty spectacular. Tonight, there was a light, much redder and bigger than the other planets. I was staring at it the twinkling light when I watched it drop diagonally and come to a stop. Thinking it might have been my eyes, I rubbed them and re-focused on it, and lined it up with the branches of a pine tree on the horizon. The light was dipping up and down and moving left back to right, like it was circling a somewhat small area. It would stop and then continue dipping up and down, and making small circles. It was reddish orange, and once flickered white. It then just disappeared, and there were no clouds in the surrounding area, as I could still see all the other stars.

July 27, 2014 · 10:00 PM · LIGHT

Farmington, MN

At approximately 10 p.m on July 27th, my partner and I saw a bright orange light move at a rapid speed across the sky heading north. We watched the light disappear into the sky. We went back inside for approximately 1 minute before we saw yet another light of the same color and speed perform the exact same movement. There was no sound at all. These were not aircraft, we see numerous aircraft as we are close to the airport. There were no flashing lights, no change of color or shape.

July 27, 2014 · 8:56 PM · LIGHT

New Orleans, LA

Approximately 30 lights over the city of New Orleans for a brief moment, and then, in an instance, all of them shot north into the sky like a flash and then disappeared.

July 27, 2014 · 8:20 PM · LIGHT

Tucson, AZ

Object seen pulsing red, blue and white, moving up and down and side to side in perfect 90 degree angles.

July 26, 2014 · 11:00 PM · LIGHT

Manitowoc, WI

It looked like a white light that apparently turned to reveal green-blue and red lights. We observed these lights two streets from the lake. It moved smoothly and silently, disappearing behind trees to the south.

July 26, 2014 · 11:00 PM · LIGHT

Everett, WA

Standing on my front porch, looking east a formation of red lights, three of them, formed a line over as though they were moving together. It was the shape of a saucer and it hovered and blinked as more red lights showed up in the sky just a short distance away. As we were watching multiple white lights in triangle formation popped up out of nowhere. They hovered as the sounds of thunder echoed through the sky yet there were no clouds no lightening, the booming sounds continued for ten minutes consecutively every 30 seconds. There were no flashes in the sky until the sounds were done then randomly they started to light up the sky. As the sounds stopped the lights continued to flash in a pattern and we could hear helicopters and see their flashing lights as they seemed to investigate the red lights. After all this in the dense wooded area one of the red lights landed on the ground and pulsated for some time until disappearing.

July 26, 2014 · 10:00 PM · LIGHT

Lake George, NY

At 10:03 p.m. myself, a former law enforcement agent, and my boyfriend, a high school teacher, observed a string of lights in the sky from the Assembly Point peninsula. The lights looked like a string of white Christmas lights that were twinkling brightly and then dimmed while gaining more distance upward. They seemed close at first, and we thought they were remnants of fireworks we heard earlier, but they continued traveling and dimming with distance. I tried to get my telescope to focus in on them, but couldn't in time. The sighting lasted between 7-10 minutes. Witness elects to remain totally anonymous; provides no contact information. PD

July 26, 2014 · 9:10 PM · LIGHT

Middletown, RI

My girlfriend and I were driving down Maple Ave. Middletown, RI, towards West Main Road, when I pointed out two yellowish-orange lights in the sky. As we continued to drive, we were able to keep up with the objects. We observed the two lights zigzag, and eventually crossed one another. As we continued to drive now on East Main Road, the two objects flew parallel, one trailing slightly behind. Then, we got stuck at a red light at the corner of Shell gas station, the objects flew farther away and out of nowhere disappeared. We continued driving on East Main Rd. to see any signs of them, but saw nothing but sky.

July 26, 2014 · 10:00 AM · LIGHT

Clifton, NJ

Was leaving friends house when we saw a flock of lights moving upward in the sky. We chased them until they dissapeared while flickering into the sky.

July 26, 2014 · 4:00 AM · LIGHT

Santa Rosa, NM

I was stopped on a north bound entrance ramp to highway 84 south of Santa Rosa, NM. I am not sure about the exit number. I stopped to take a break and short nap at approximately 03:00. I woke around 04:00 and noticed what I thought was a shooting star. I was amazed at how clear and bright the stars were and especially how apparent the Milky Way was, because of the ultra low amounts of ambient city light. As I looked up in the general area of the shooting star, toward the west, I noticed what I thought was an airplane or satellite moving across the sky, but it was not strobing or flashing and appeared to be a solid white color. It stopped all of a sudden and then moved for a short distance in a different direction. The light disappeared and then I noticed a few others near the same spot in the sky moving short distances in different directions. The duration of these moving lights only lasted for 15-30 seconds and I didn't see any after.

July 26, 2014 · 12:15 AM · LIGHT

North Fairfield, OH

After doing late night chores and coming back up to the house, we noticed a brilliant ball of light about the size of a helicopter going across the tops of our woods. This light was heading north along SR 61. There was no sound or flashing lights from it. It progressed out across the field then shot up into a cloud and disappeared. The dogs noticed, as they were barking as it was coming down across the tree tops. Could not see anything other than the blinding white light that was produced.

Cold Lake (Canada), AB · Canada

My family and a couple of friends where enjoying a fire in the back yard. (6 witnesses) At approx 12:00 my nephew pointed high in the east sky and asked what is that. We all looked. It was a very bright orange light moving very similar to a satellite, but unusually bright, About 5 times brighter than the ISS. About 20 seconds of watching it go west, at approx imately directly overhead, it changed its heading to 90 degrees and moved south, without slowing down. Moving south after about 15 seconds it started to dim and finally faded completely out about 20 degrees above our tree line, also very similar to a satellite. If it wasn’t for the 90 degree turn, I would have thought it was the ISS with just the right angle. I’ve witnessed and identified ISS over 100 times since the early 2000’s. This was way too bright.
