Light over Lola, KY
A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.
The report, as filed
I had been sitting in my backyard for 30-40 minutes gazing at the stars, when I saw an extremely bright light had appeared in an area that had been clear prior til now. It was brighter and bigger than any star in the sky and had a slight yellow tint. It sat stationary for nearly 1 minute before moving a short distance to the right, then vanishing completely. Just like the light from a bulb does when you flip off a light switch, it was just gone.
Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #111958). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.
Ask for the records
What would the paper say?
For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
