January 30, 2016 · 6:00 PM · FIREBALL

Hillsville, VA

Hillsvile, VA...Bright white object falling from sky, turned to green just before it "burned out". Had a tail much like meteorite but was very bright/metallic and was very close. It wasn't far above the tree line when it dissipated. Have seen 2 similar objects over Galax, VA, also but did not document dates...they were identical except were white and faded to vivid blue instead of green.

Cerritos, CA

I am reporting what a friend said to me, after driving down the 405 freeway south, just north the 22 split - along the naval base that parallels the freeway. An orange-red ball was about 30 feet above the ground and following traffic (as I understand) but at a different speed. Then the ~36 inch ball at a point in time turned into a FIREBALL, and continued to move out of range of people on the freeway who could see it. I suspect perhaps at least 20 other drivers may have seen it. I hope someone's dash cam captured it! Lasted less than 40 seconds, I understand. I remain anonymous. I hope others also report this incident! Witness elects to remain totally anonymous; provides no contact information. PD

Waukesha, WI

I was driving south on hwy 74 at I-94 and saw at treetop level to the southeast (11:00 oclock from due south) a neon green light that shot straightup into the air. I thought it might be a firework. It had an oval top shape with a kind of trail tail. But it just disappeared into the sky. Really weird--no idea what it was. Witness provides no contact information. PD

Highland Village, TX

I was driving home from work of FM 2499 in Highland Village, Texas, and noticed an orange/amber colored fireball looking object flying low in the sky to my left. I pulled over onto a side street to get a closer look, and I watched it fly in an eastward direction. It slowly flew off to the eastern horizon which was blocked by tall houses. about 30 seconds later 2 more of the same orb/fireball objects were flying eastward as well. After those passed the horizon, the 4th one was flying in the same direction at a little bit lower altitude and I caught a low quality video of it. It looked the same but seemed to be twinkling as well. I will submit the video to the address below. My window was down & there was no sound coming from these objects. I'm curious to know what it is if someone could let me know. Thanks, ((name deleted))

Lakveville, MN

Our house has large windows facing East and we see planes going in and out of MSP all the time. We also have a medical helicopter that goes over regularly. On Sunday Jan 24, 2016, we were relaxing watching TV, when I noticed an orange ball, low in the sky, coming straight out of the east. I noticed it did not have the signature flashing white lights of a plane or of a helicopter and no red light… just orange an orange glow. I got up and opened our patio door to see if I could hear rotor blades or a jet engine…there was nothing but silence. I then saw a second orange ball trailing the first and just off to the north of the first orange ball. They moved about as fast as a small private jet but had no flashing lights and absolutely no sound. They appeared to be flying just above the cloud deck. I am not a UFO type of person and the way I saw a definite formation to the two objects I would think military? I have been an aviation buff since I was young but this is by far the strangest thing I have ever seen in my life. Absolutely no sound from a jet engine or rotor blades and they were both close enough to me that I should have heard something. Henderson, NV

While out for an evening walk with my wife son and dog, My son noticed a glowing orangish light in the sky in front of us and called it a glowing pumpkin, as we were watching it another u.f.o. approached at such velocity, if you blinked you might think it just appeared or turned the lights on. They hovered a minute or so then the second to arrive sped off right towards Boulder City with acceleration and speed not capable by humans. The crafts were silent and the first to arrive was last to go and this time I didn't see the tracer across the sky as it left. It was either too fast or maybe it went a different direction like straight up. Either way, this was the strangest thing I have ever seen in the night sky in my lifetime. I truly feel like there is technology out there that must make ours look like childplay.

Lancaster, OH

On January 24, 2016, my mother and I were heading west on Fair Ave. when I noticed a single fireball in the sky. It was glowing orange but seemed to have changed its shape from a standard orb, to a multi-dimensional object. I followed the fireball for nearly 5 minutes, however it did not seem to be moving. I took several photos to which you can clearly see the much larger and brighter sun in the sky to the right of the fireball. I was only able to see it while traveling on Fair Ave in the 5 minutes time frame I mentioned. It was very unusual and a little scary.

Spring, TX

My husband pulled into our driveway from the store, walked into the house to tell me about seeing 4 orange lights outside; he wondered if it could be Unmanned Aircraft. Not immediately, but a few minutes later I walked outside to take my son to a school event. Waiting in the driveway, I looked up to see if I saw what my husband mentioned. I saw just 1 orange light. It was to the right of Orion’s belt (the 3-stars in a row). It was dark, but I saw a dark gray cloud cover the orange light briefly, making it seem to have disappeared or gone dimmer. Not thinking much of it, I did not stay to watch longer. It was cold and we were on our way, running just a bit behind, we left at about 7:05 p.m. Central Time. At 10 p.m. we walked outside together, the moon have moved up much higher and no orange lights in view.

Franklin, TN

I was looking out at the snow we had today and out on the herizon were two bright orange balls of light, rising out of the hills and moving towards my house. They approached from the West in perfect equal distance, the entire time they flew. There was no sound, and as they got closer to me, the orange hue got brighter. Almost immediately, one of the lights pulsed, and then went out...and about 10 seconds later, the second light did the same. I caught the whole thing on video and there were tons of kids outside playing in the snow at the time, not sure if any of them saw it, but it was clearly visible because it was already dark outside and these lights were very noticeable. I took a 2-minute video of the whole thing. And this was weird. It definitely wasn't military planes either, I watch all the planes as they come in, and know the flight paths to BNA. This was different, there were no blinking safety lights on these and they were fluorescent orange with a bit of a hue around them...and the lights were too close together to be planes, and too high to be drones. Not to mention the lights disappeared as they got near me.

Hoquiam, WA

I first saw 2 orange lights flying from the east that started changing directions as if flying in formation. 2 more sets of 2 fireball type crafts, then became visible, all moving west at first, next to each other, then moving behind each other, before shooting straight up into space. At that time, 3 others were watching with me. It was only then that I was able to get video of the last one, as it passed overhead and disappeared into the black sky. There was no sound from any of the crafts. A couple minutes later I witnessed military jets patrolling grid patterns.

Driving south on Route 55 I saw a huge green fireball shoot towards the ground. It was way too big to be a shooting star and it definitely was not a firework.

I took a picture for proof. As soon as I did two of them took off to the west. The third which was trailing behind also turned to the west. There was no sound at all. Can you explain this?

January 14, 2016 · 9:10 PM · FIREBALL

Marion, IA

Thursday, January 14th 2016, I was out on my usual 5 mile walk around northeast Marion, IA. At 9:10pm, I noticed a bright burning object in the clear night sky when I was southbound on Rosewood Ridge Drive. It was approaching from the southwest traveling northeast fast. I knew instantly that this wasn’t a plane or jet. No blinking lights, no sound whatsoever. It was not a meteor because it never burnt up. The object had no trail but yet it was burning. Object was not a candle balloon lantern, as it was much larger and higher in the sky, traveling fast. Also it was not the ISS either, as I am a regular observer of the space station and this object was clearly not in orbit. The burning object passed over me at about 60 degrees and even as it flew off towards the northeast, the whole object still burned as it had been burning the whole time. Roughly about 3 minutes from the time I first saw it, to when it slowly disappeared toward the northeast horizon. Exact description: about the size of a jet, sphere shaped, burning, looked like fire but it stayed in the ! shape of a sphere, no trail whatsoever, no blinking lights, no sound. The whole time I just stood still in the street watching this object. No cars had passed while I watched, and no people around whatsoever. A very silent and clear night in January.

Burbank, OH

I was sitting on my couch in my house And I noticed a light outside through my window. I live near the intersection of highway I-71 where the bridge goes over West West Salem Road in Burbank, Ohio. I was facing west looking Southwest out of my window. The back ground is a fairly large open field with a high tree line in the back. I've lived in this house and seen this view of this area for most of my life so I understood that this was something strange in the sky. I'm trying to explain this is best I can and I'm using a voice recorder so I can actually talk and that makes it easier for me. I saw a very small bright light in that said area and it caught my eye right away so I shut the TV off and I walked to the window I open the window which I had to kneel down band open the screen on the window and I just looked at the object. Within 5 minutes, the whole thing lasted 5 minutes. The pin sized object groove a fairly large glowing ball the same color as fire. I would have to say that it lasted around 5 minutes. I wasn't looking at a clock or anything I I just focused on it. It stayed bright in the sky for around 5 minutes and then it just faded back out to a pinprick and disappeared. It was still the whole time it never moved from one spot which automatically indicated to me that it wasn't a helicopter or something. To describe myself I am NOT a a UFO buff by any means and I've never reported anything before. But this is been significant enough to me that something was very strange and this is my first step in finding out what it possibly was. Thank you!

Cedar Falls, IA

While smoking a cigarette on my porch, I saw a "star" that was brighter than any other stars on the northern side; however it wasn't white like the other stars, it was reddish/orange, and spherical. It moved downward vertically (using a a tree as a reference). It gained more altitude in a smooth and steady motion, then descended again directly downward. I went inside to get another cigarette trying to look at it more, which took less than 5 min. When I went back to the porch, it was gone.

Sutherlin, CA

I was driving home from work tonight going northbound and it was very dark and there was light fog. On the right side of the freeway, I seen a bright red ball pretty big coming from lower part of the sky going Horizontally across to the left side. It had like a lighter red following tail following behind it. I don't know if it was a falling star or a meteor, for I never seen either. I do know it was red.

St. Louis, MO

Two of my friends and I were walking to one of our friends house when i looked up and saw the big dipper. Then just a little farther to the left i saw a glowing ball of light moving across the sky. Then i said look and both friends looked up. The one of them said its another. As we watched them, one stopped and another bypassed as if it thought the other one was a star. Then when the second ufo as ahead about 10 ft. away, the first ufo changed directions and went the opposite way of the second one. Then they both disappeared. As we continued on i looked up in a different direction, I saw a huge grey triangle in the sky with a red light in the middle of the bottom and three blue lights on the tips. It was moving across the sky quietly, then another appeared farther to the right. It looked the same as the first triangle one, but instead of silence it as loud like a jet. My two friends went inside, then both ufo hovered for about two minutes. One disappeared, ! while the other hovered above me. I then fell asleep. Then my friends came back outside and said I was inactive (non responsive) for the first 30 seconds when they came back outside. I dont remember being inactive but i remember going to sleep. Now i have a new scar on the under part of my armpit. I still have the scar.

Unity, PA

Floating fireballs made several different shapes from a circle to a diamond then into a line and constellation shapes. Could only record a few seconds of multiple, kept shutting recording off. Then when there was just one I could record for 45 seconds. Sky was clear and planes were visible.

Lake Wylie, SC

Tonight (05 January 2016), I observed 15 to 20 bright red-orange objects, transiting the night sky over Lake Wylie, SC. They moved from horizon to horizon in a NNE to SSW direction, over a 5 to 8 minute period. They appeared as bright red-orange dots, with irregular spacing along the line of flight, but all seemed be headed in the same direction, and at similar speeds. No sound was detectable. I have never seen anything like this, but the closest thing would be red distress flares--but they don't transit horizon to horizon.

Chula Vista, CA

At around 19:05 a coworker and myself saw a round ball of yellow light fly over Aquatica water park. It appeared to come from the northwest and I lost sight of it over the Sleep Train amphitheater.
