We were driving home, when all of a sudden my cousin pointed out the window and we both saw this shiny silver white disk slowly moving Across the sky to the right of us and as I pulled out my camera looking away for a second my cousin saw it vanish in thin air and it kept coming back and vanishing for about 3 minutes before we couldn't find it again. We heard this loud sound like bass from a car going by and it was pulsing, like a deep rumble and a beat, and simultaneously, I heard helicopters flying overhead, about 3-4. I ran outside and saw two helicopters, with their lights on, (trailing behind), and one flying dark, from what I could make out against the clouds (with the lights off). It was cloudy which refracted the light back and this helicopter was flying "dark" but could be seen against the clouds... It was clearly chasing something. I am right outside class "B" airspace to the southwest, and there was no aircraft in the area (which Is very strange to say the least) for this time of night (I am in the flight path). The noise was unlike any other I have ever heard. I am a private pilot, and I have been at O'hare when the Osprey land, and Marine 1 lands as well as Air Force 1... It was reminiscent of that but the noise, it was a deep rumble/hum that I could feel in my feet on my hardwood floor. The bass, it was not the chop of rotors, it was a hum for two seconds, and then a higher pitched hum, perhaps two octaves above. Then it was followed closely with Black Hawk chop of the rotors… Witness elects to remain totally anonymous; provides no contact information. We assume an evening sighting, and have amended the time above. However, we have no means of contacting the party in order to confirm the time. PD

Standing on my front stairs having a smoke facing west and saw two orange and reddish glowing balls looking almost like fire to my right. One was smaller and a little further in front of the other one and a bit lower in the air. Noticed the bigger one first due to it being brighter and changing in intensity. No sound and did not appear to be lanterns. They appeared north of me and seemed to be heading in a southwest direction almost towards me then changed and headed a bit northwest. They were moving sort of quickly and there was almost no wind. Went to get my phone to take a picture and they were already too far away heading in a north/northwest direction almost side by side.

Chicago, IL
I was letting my dog out into the yard and looked toward the sky, as I waited by the door. I thought I saw a large triangular shape in the sky in the distance coming from a southeastern to northwestern direction, but it almost looked camouflaged by the night sky. As it got closer, I saw round red balls of light moving closely together, perhaps 10-20. I watched it come directly over my house and it did not make one sound. I realized the lights were underneath something, but as I said, it looked like it would fade in and out of the dark sky or was camouflaged by the sky. I felt like I didn’t want to take my eyes off of it. After I let my dog in, I ran through the house to the front door to see if I could follow it toward the west, but it had disappeared. I live fairly close to an airport and always see and hear planes in the sky, whether they fly high or low, but this was not like anything I had ever seen before. It didn’t make one sound, and was large! My husband and son weren’t home, and my neighbors weren’t in their yards. I wish someone else would report this – sure would make me feel a lot better. This was most definitely not a plane. Witness elects to remain totally anonymous; provides no contact information. PD

On the evening of June 6, 2015, around 10:15, I was letting my dog out into the yard and looked toward the sky while I waited for her. I was standing and looking directly eastward and about a quarter of a mile away and (from my perception) about 20-40 feet above a treeline, I saw an extremely large shape in the sky, very sharply pointed in the middle, which I saw first, and extremely wide and long in its width, which all of a sudden just seemed to slowly appear. It almost reminded me of a large bulky arrowhead in the width, but the sharply pointed center looked like the two sides of a triangle. In the middle of it, above the largely pointed center, was a round shape that looked almost dome-like or conical. I could not see the length of it as I was looking directly at it as it was heading west, and just could see the front and width of it. Perhaps the craft was just super wide and not long in length at all, which is possibly why I did not see its length. It was moving slowly, not fast at all. The middle portion (triangle dome-like center) looked a bit lighter than the rest of the craft. As I continued to stare at it – pretty much frozen and afraid to blink - I then saw what looked like a hot sidewalk effect, for lack of a better description, or a waviness slowly forming around this thing, and then it looked as though piece by piece I could see through it until it faded or melted into the sky, almost as though it was camouflaging itself in the night sky. If I hadn’t been looking in that exact direction at the moment I did, I would have missed it, despite it being so large, because of the way it sort of fit in with the sky. As it got a little closer, I noticed light from underneath it but then I also noticed that it faded into the sky more and the shape became sort of lost or not as discernible as it had been. What did become more discernible, though, were the lights. By the time it was nearing my home, I saw one larg! e circle with about 15-20 red globes of light within the circle. I sensed that the lights were underneath something, but the object was not discernible around or over the lights at this point. Everything looked just really dark. But I knew it was there and I sensed it was there. The lights seemed low, perhaps 500-600 feet. It was silent. The circle of lights then moved very slightly in a northwesternly direction over my house. At this point, I became afraid and grabbed my dog. I ran from the back door through my house to the front window as it faces north, to see if I could follow it, but when I looked at my front window it had disappeared. It was just gone. I did not go back outside. It is difficult to judge by measurement the size of what I saw without using the words huge or large. If I stand in the same spot where I was standing when I initially saw it above the treeline about a quarter of a mile away and hold up a quarter at arm’s length, then I would have to hold perhaps 3-4 quarters across to cover the width of it at that distance when I saw it first appear in the sky. I live fairly close to an airport (about 30 minutes south) and am very familiar with the sights and sounds of airplanes, whether they are flying high or low, daytime or nighttime, but this was not like anything I had ever seen before. It didn’t make one sound, and was large. There are always planes flying in their flight paths over my neighborhood, but strangely enough, there wasn’t one plane in sight during that time or that I could hear. Just silence. My husband and son weren’t home at the time, and I did not have my cell phone on me when this occurred as I was just letting the dog out and had left it in the house, never thinking this would be happening, so unfortunately, I can only tell you what I saw with my own eyes. After telling my husband and son about my experience, they showed me pictures of a stealth bomber, but it did not resemble what I saw. They also showed me pictures of Chinese lanterns, but again, the lights that I saw did not resemble Chinese lanterns. This was such an unnerving experience for me. I wish there was some sort of explanation. I can only hope that someone else will report seeing something similar on that night – it certainly would make me feel a lot better. And I can tell you without hesitation that this was most definitely not a plane. Witness elects to remain totally anonymous; provides no contact information. PD

Very very very bright ball of light and it just sat there for about 7 minutes then the lights dimmed down and it started moving slowly and it just dissapeared! What caught my attention was how bright it was! And it just sat there for the longest.

Single fireball, followed by another and then two pairs in formations. Orange fireballs, bright, silent, relatively faster than commercial aircraft normally observed in this area. Unidentified by any standards familiar to me.

Honestly, they were probably just lanterns flying in the sky, but I can't find reference to them anywhere, and oddly enough they either went out or disappeared over my street. At that time of night they would have probably been floating for a fair amount of time if they were coming from a carnival or firework display of some sort. Just would love to confirm this since they were rather interesting and beautiful floating much lower than a plane or helicopter-they were in a crooked line, and perhaps as high as one might see a large balloon or high flying kite. No photos; my phone was dead.

Several orange lights, initially looked like a falling star, but never changed. Series of two to three at a time coming from South horizon moving slowly over toward the North. Three alternated to form triangle, then one moved forward to go North, forming an elongated triangle while other two stayed side by side before lining up to move North. They looked like they were coming from the airport, so I drove toward the airport and parked. I didn't see anything looking South or overhead. I then looked North and saw four orange orbs in the area where I saw the first orbs.

On Friday, May 9, 2015, shortly after 12:00 noon my daughter & I saw in the sky a very bright, pink-ish, orangey ‘thing’. Although it was in broad daylight, the object was very bright - slightly brighter than the northern star. It moved at a pace that a far off jet might move – slowly, but detectable. After viewing for probably 30 seconds, it seemed to ‘throw off’ a couple of sparks, then disappeared. We managed to get 2 pictures before it disappeared.

Saw moving orange glowing (fireball type) heading south to north. Duration was about one minute for movement before disappearance. Fireball was not on fire, but orange glowing ball that was pulsing. Moved north bound then faded out immediately. Not a plane, not blinking aircraft lights. Orange ball was much larger than plane lights. Not a fire lantern, no fire and moving much faster than a fire lantern.

However, the object returned as fast as it had left, but appeared over a different house. It repeated this action quite a few times. This went on for a good hour to an hour and a half before it finally left the area. I'm not sure what it was doing, but if I had to guess it was collecting intell. The object was about the size of a softball at about a thousand feet. It was dark in color and had no identifying lights. There was no sound or noise of any kind coming from the object. The weather was calm with a wind speed of 5 mph and frequent gusts of 17 mph with a visibility of 10.00 miles. There were some high-altitude clouds in the area, but none to obstruct the view of the object. Weather history information provided through Weather Underground.

I saw an object, way to big to be a star! It stays still but will change position. I haven't seen it in the move. It goes up and down, last night it was over to the South. Over the last week I have seen 3 at one time. Also ,what looks like a plane with flashing red lights will fly up to them! What could this be? We suspect a "twinkling" star. PD

Dull orange near ball like lights moving from ENE to WSW. They came in pairs and the southern most object was leading in all three pairs. They glowed orange as they were seen coming from the east and continued to glow orange until they passed overhead, but as they past they started to dim and then slowly disaperred as they headed west as though there was no light in or on the back of them. The pairs were about three minutes apart and appeared to travel exactely the same route. Then a few minutes later, I saw one that seemed to be traveling down to the horizon in the ENE sky. There were no flashing lights on these objects. We could not determine how high they were but my guess would be over 1000' and less than 10,000'.

I was coming home, and I just randomly see these blinking dots in the sky of different colors. Is it UFO or drones? I also have been seeing these for the past two weeks. What is going on? Witness elects to remain totally anonymous; provides no contact information. PD

I figured it was a plane heading towards DuPage airport. It was traveling pretty fast and then it just stopped moving and hovered. I kept driving west and it just disappeared. Witness elects to remain totally anonymous; provides no contact information. PD

Location: Galena, IL Time: 9:17 pm CST approx. Eastern sky somewhat south, opposite of where Jupiter was in the western sky and about the same distance from horizon. A very bright light with a distinct orange red color was observed stationary in the sky. I checked where Jupiter was in the west, Orion was south west, and it was none of those. I thought maybe Mars but it was to bright and appeared large. I went in the house to check the Internet for a sky map and when I came out again it was gone - maybe 4 minutes later.

On Sunday, April 12, about 6:00-6:30, a friend,my brother and I were in my back yard talking about work, my brother said.. Look pointing into the sky, which is still bright my friend and I looked to the southern sky I saw this thing with blue lights maybe three or four brightest blue lights i ever seen, i was hovering for a few seconds, then dropped with such speed. then it shot from the east to the west. never saw anything move that fast. Then it stopped on a dime, it stayed still for a momoment a flew south toward the south a disappeared. We had cell phones with cameras, but just the sight the three of us didnt even think about filming it. It made my friend who was a total skeptic a believer of things things. Now we are maybe 3 miles outside downtown Chicago... Someone other people had to see this. I E mailed. Mr. George Noory explaining what we saw. he said he hadn't heard anything yet.
