Wildwood Crest, NJ

While on vacation with my family we were driving back to the hotel from the boardwalk on sea view ave which runs parallel with the ocean. While stopped at a red light, I was looking toward the ocean, and saw a cluster of approximately 9 orange fireball looking objects out over the ocean. I alerted my wife and 3 daughters who are aged 17, 11, and 7, and all of us saw the objects. They appeared to be in what looked like a pentagon type formation. As we continued driving, my 17 year old brought to my attention that some of the fireballs had faded out, and now there was just a large triangle shaped formation. At this point we tried to pull over to get a better look, and traffic being what it is we found ourselves unable to do so. So we kept driving. In the next clearing the triangle had become only two objects that were right next to each other, and they shortly faded to nothing. I am an avid listener to coast and ground zero, and immediately thought to report this, when we got back to north jersey. My wife works for Fox News and I am a loss prevention detective/HD video surveillance operator and trained as a observer. P

Santa Maria, CA

Then on 7/22/2015, at 22:30, I saw a identical object take the same flight path. When the object disappeared in the same location I went in side to retrieve my phone. Upon returning outside there was another indentical object taking the same flight path. Then I called to my wife to show her. When she got outside that was when I noticed five more identical objects fly across the western horizon eventually taking the same flight path of the other two objects and disappearing in the same location one after another. The objects were orange fireballs.

Gainesville, GA

Traveling from a southerly direction to a northerly direction, a bright orange fiery object passed overhead at a high rate of speed, disappearing in less than a minute. Where I live we have the bright orange street lamps illuminating our streets and parking areas, this was pretty much the same color and intensity except it glowed as an open flame not a light. While watching television, out of the corner of my eye this moving light caught my attention outside my french doors leading to my porch. To get a better look, I went outside and observed the object traversing about 45 degrees above the horizon in an easterly direction from where I was standing. The object was flickering as though on fire, the way a flame appears to the eye. While living in Florida I've seen many rocket and shuttle launches from the Cape, the glow emitted looked very similar, but there was not any smoke or exhaust trailing the 'fireball' that I observed as it flew by, also I was unable to hear any sound as a jet, helicopter, or prop aircraft would make.

Detroit, MI

Looking south towards downtown Detroit and the river that divides Detroit from Windsor in Canada (standing about a mile and a half from downtown and the river), I saw a single fire colored roundish object between me and the river. It first appeared to be still, but then I may have been adjusting to 'this is not a small plane, where are its lights?' Maybe it was moving, but slowly. In general it was moving east parallel to the river. It might have made a 'adjustments' in its movement a couple times. Slight right turns toward the river. Its movement was not always steady or at the same (slow) speed. Clear night with some wispy white clouds. After watching it just a few minutes it disappeared into a cloud. Don't know how long it had been there before I came out at 10:20. Its height or size was that of a small plane flying at the top altitude allowed by small planes over a city. Not the lower altitude at which a plane flying over a baseball game might be. A neighbor was able to see it without their glasses. I searched this description, and found a lot of images matching what I saw. The colors of fire. Not a single spectrum red or orange light. There was nothing else in the sky. Quiet. No planes, large or small, or helicopters.

Holiday, FL

Red/orange, glowing, fireball floating quietly 200-300 ft in the sky. Flying south to north, slowly, and suddenly began flying east, fastly. It looked almost like a giant sky lantern that was burning out of control, but quickly realized it was changing direction and couldn't have been a balloon, there was no wind. My girlfriend and I thought it was a helicopter that was burning out of control, but we didn't hear rotars. We live near tampa and Clearwater airport and see a lot of air traffic, including helicopters, and are used to all types of aircraft sounds. This was flying too low and made no sound whatsoever. Even more interesting, just before we saw the fire all we both saw a very bright star in the Scorpio constellation which began to slowly ascend higher into the sky until it disappeared. I said, "do you see that?" Pointing at the bright star. She yelled, "WHAT IS THAT?!" Pointing at the fireball, which was floating quietly over the canal next to our home. We observed for a total of 1.5 minutes. There were intermittent, fog-like clouds flying by over head. But the fireball was below the fog. I am a prior service army veteran who was stationed with 1st cavalry division's air cavalry brigade, from 2006-2008, and have much experience with helicopters. The size of the craft, if you extend your hand out and close one eye, was about the size of a quarter.

Tumwater, WA

I'm a nanny in Tumwater and was working until midnight. I had just got both kids to sleep around 9:30 pm and one of the two dogs acted like he needed out. I took him out and he just looked around and growled and didn't seem to need to go potty. I sent him back in because I didn't want him running after anyone. As I went to go inside myself, I noticed two bright orange lights in the sky. It looked similar to how Venus and Jupiter have appeared recently but a lot brighter, or closer. I stopped to look, my view was through some trees, and they were moving. Way slower than an airplane. They moved at the same pace. I watched until the first disappeared past my view behind tree branches. Then a third appeared following the second. Same speed… And about same distance apart. After the second disappeared, it reappeared, coming back the way it came. Then as it got closer to the third light they both continued that direction (right to left from my view). Two to three more followed, same speed, same direction. I watched until I couldn't see anymore. Didn't bother to go get my phone and try to video. I guess I didn't want to miss what I was seeing, and didn't think it would show up anyway... Wish I would've tried. They all looked the same. I kept thinking there's no way that's airplanes. Then an airplane did fly overhead, and like i thought, it was traveling way faster and not as bright, with a blue and white, and maybe small red, flashing lights, and I heard it. I couldn't hear the "craft." But they weren't directly overhead either. They were bright orange, seemed to sparkle or flash various colors maybe, similar to how the planet's look in the sky far away... First time I've ever seen it. I saw a huge green meteorite one time on an early trip to the airport, but that was definitely a meteor after searching info :) Thanks for this page to document sightings!

Everett, WA

This went on for about 1 minute and I ran into my bedroom to get my camera, When I came back and started filming they were gone. I waited for about 5 min and even went outside to get a better vantage point but they never returned. The initial sighting was from a window about 30ft from street level, facing east, the window was open/no screen. objects were in the sky at about 45° from me and could not have been less then maybe 1000ft I believe we are not alone in this universe but I am a realistic person, I have no clue what I seen.

Centerville, IA

Looking out my window, not an uncommon thing for me to be doing at this time. I looked at a tree in my neighbor's backyard, when I noticed a ball of fire, after noticing this ball, a few seconds after trying to figure out what it was, it moved from the tree, and it went from a ball of fire to a bird with fire wings and fire tail. It flew out of my site.

Allison Park, PA

We were watching a movie in our backyard. I noticed 3 extremely bright orange lights behind the neighbor's trees. They each moved across the sky one after the other in the same exact path at a moderate speed. Not fast but not slow. There was no sound and they "twinkled"/ pulsated ever so slightly. We're close to a flight path for the airport but I've never seen anything like this. Witness elects to remain totally anonymous; provides no contact information. PD

July 18, 2015 · 9:16 PM · FIREBALL

Towson, MD

Standing on our porch in Towson Md we saw an orange, fiery object moving silently and rapidly in a Northwestern direction. It left no tail streak and within the flickering, amber glow we saw a large, dark object. Meteors are usually white or green and always leave a tail streak. It had no typical flashing plane lights and made no sound. I am quite certain it was neither a plane, helicopter, or meteor.

July 17, 2015 · 11:20 PM · FIREBALL

Gladstone, MI

On July 17th, 2015, at 23:00 I was out for a bike ride. Upon riding down a dead end street at about 23:20, I could see a truck shining a bright halogen spot light up into the sky, as they were bringing attention to something. There were 6 residents pointing up in the sky. I noticed they were pointing at a red/orange fireball moving up from the ground up into the sky about 2.5 miles away. I rode my bike back one block and went down a dark, dirt path in a undeveloped part of town, where there were no background lights, completely pitch black. This area has no obstructions and overlooks a inlet of Lake Michigan. I climbed up on a sugar sand hill. I saw 1 orange/red round fireball climb up from, what we local residents call “The Bluff” a 200ft elevation change on the west side of the city. The fireball climbed to approx. 500ft, it then started forward motion and began a huge sweeping left hand turn out over Little Bay De Noc. After moving across the water, it gently faded out and disappeared. As soon as it was dimming out of sight, I noticed 2 more rising up 1 after another, from the same location as the first one. They 2 made the same sweeping turn at about 1500ft to 1800ft. I have flown in a Cessna around this area before. At one point there were 4 flying. Although they flew the same circuit, it was not the exact speed every time. There were some small variations. This continued for at least 20 minutes. I was quite interested in watching this, as this was not my first time observing these fireballs. Last summer I had a much closer sighting. This being my second sighting I was not so shocked to see the fireballs, this time I took more time to get a description of them. As I squinted at them, they appeared to have a central upside down “V” with 2 round points at the bottom of them. They have a bizarre flickering effect, almost like the “licking of flames, from a fire” with the “V” in the middle. They seem to pulse between red to yellow. Both elements put together, it looks like a cross between a bright filament in a clear light bulb and someone puffing a cigarette at night, a very smooth red/orange/yellow pulse. After spending 8 years in the military, I have been around both F-16 fighters and numerous helicopters. These things are absolutely silent, no distant “JUH,JUH,JUH or ROARS” at a 2.5 mile distance. I can determine a few things, these are not: fireworks helicopters private planes commercial planes helium type “Fire Lamps” RC planes / 4 blade RC drones, to far away to control by radio. They just have too much speed, and the point of origin that they start from. With everything going on in the country, they might be some type of testing of new observation platforms that we don’t know about.

Fairhope, AL

It came up from the south bout 10pm or looking in south direction and seemed to travel north east my two bubbies said it was a jet on fire or something I keep saying it was way too high to be a jet. i first spotted it coming up from some trees across the road were we were standing in the middle of town it seemed to go straight up and then traveled north east till it disappeared. It lasted bout 1 to 2 min no way it as a meteor nothing could of held a trajectory like that and stay light up like it was just skipping across our atmosphere. It had to be a spacecraft or some kind of sub orbital experimental aircraft. Witness indicates a city of "Gairhope, AL." We suspect he intended "Fairhope," and we have amended the name of the city above. PD

It was in a very controlled floating direction moving downward, like aircraft landing position, but at the same time leaving a laser like red trail that could be seen as the sun was going down across the horizon. I have never seen this before. Very interesting event to be seen. Witness elects to remain totally anonymous; provides no contact information. PD

July 15, 2015 · 3:30 AM · FIREBALL

Topeka, IN

This all happened about 3 years ago. Me and my friend were night fishing at Emma Lake near Topeka Indiana. It was about 3:30 in the morning. We were each in our own float tube. I was facing the shore, he was facing the deep water. I went to cast when I noticed a blue ball of fire popped up out of nowhere, about 20 feet above the trees. Then another and another forming a giant circle. The moment the last connected to the first and completed the circle, the whole center lit up. I looked away for a moment and realized it was bright as daylight and I could see for miles. Then I looked back at the light and BOOM! It broke the sound barrier from a dead stop. It all happened in about 3 seconds. We never heard a sound before the engines fired up. The sky was completely clear and we never saw it go over our heads. At first I thought I fell asleep and had a wild dream, but just then my friend started freaking out about a bright light and a loud bang….yes it was all too real.

July 15, 2015 · 12:00 AM · FIREBALL

Kelso, WA

12:30-1:30am, July 15th. Standing on the front porch looking towards the South I saw an orange ball a quarter the size of the moon coming towards me like a bomb, very orange like a fire ball with a tail. It was moving at an extremely fast speed, faster than a helicopter, I don’t know how much faster than that it was. It was very high up in the sky and hard to determine speed without anything near it to compare it to, because it was so high up. It did not look man made. It was coming towards me at a fast pace and then it did a very fast turned to the East. It faded in brightness and dimmed to invisibility. I watched it for about a minute.

July 14, 2015 · 9:15 PM · FIREBALL

Baileys Harbor, WI

About 9:15 CST, July 14, 2015, a single fireball was spotted in the eastern sky over Lake Michigan. It was moving horizontally from North to South and spotted between Cana Island and Baileys Harbor, WI. Object was first glimpsed while flying past a window that is approximately 11'-6" high off the finished floor. The object appeared to be an orange/red sphere, about the size of a risen full moon, and appeared to be flying just above the tree tops. After spotting it in the window, I ran out onto the deck and watched it fly over head and then behind the trees to the south, headed in the direction of Baileys Harbor. As it moved south, I could still see its glow but could no longer see the sphere. It was probably visible to me between 30 seconds to a minute. Long enough for me to get out of the door and onto the deck. It seemed to be moving quickly. No sound was noticeable and there was no light trail behind the sphere or no aura around the sphere, that I could discern. Just an orange red ball flying horizontally and low through the night sky. It was a very interesting sight and something I've never seen before. At this time, I have not been able to find any reference to this fireball sighting by anyone else in the area. Sidney, MT

For the past two years, I have been witnessing a small orb of light which looks to be like burning embers that gently float across the sky but disappears, when i try to drive closer to it. Happens at about the same time at night maybe 30 minutes after the sun has set. Witness elects to remain totally anonymous; provides no contact information. We suspect that the witness implies a nighttime sighting, and we have amended the time above. PD
