Le 7 avril 2012 vers 23h30 deux personnes constatent le déplacement silencieux d'une centaines de points lumineux rosés dans le ciel nuageux. Deux groupes successifs ainsi que d'autres points lumineux qui se suivent à la queue leu leu sont distingués à basse altitude. Tous les points arrivent du NNE et virent plein Est. L'observation dure 30minutes. Un seul témoignage est recueilli. L'observation d'une suite de boules blanches et roses, une nuit de week-end, fait nettement penser à un lâcher de lanternes, probablement issu d'une fête privée. Le déplacement ordonné, y compris dans un changement de trajectoire, est fréquent avec des lanternes, car il résulte du suivi commun d'un même filet de vent, pas forcement uniforme prés du sol. Les lanternes blanches et roses sont très prisées pour les fêtes de mariage. En conséquence le GEIPAN classe le cas en B : probables lanternes thailandaises. [GEIPAN classification B — Lanterne thai]
