Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center. Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.
Ask for the records
What would the paper say?
For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.

Tumbling flashing object moving west to east southeast at a relatively slow pace. Not a plane flashing. Very high up like a satellite. Would flash at irregular intervals. Bright white flash similar to an iridium flare. Continued heading east-southeast and got very dim. Could no longer see it after some time. I was unable to capture the object on video but did take photos when it flashed.

I saw 1 yellow light flash then I saw 5 yellow lights light up from right to left & then go dark all at the same time horizontally. The lights were yellow. I saw this above the bridge by the Toyota dealership in Coon Rapids.

Let dog out and noticed how beautiful the starts were. Started watching lights quite a distance away to the east ( 3 to 5) As I watched them they arched to the left on the higher end of the horizon. I noticed one stationary object(Think it may of been Mars due to reddish tint but not sure) The lights followed each other in an arch from low horizon to high and then back down. 5 of them now on the first pass. As I watched the three appeared to become 5. No sound. They vanished from sight. As I took care of my dog, maybe two minutes later I saw the five lights again. They all started doubling into 2 lights each. Before they were gone this time there where 9 lights now with the first one to the tail end being single. Again a few minutes went by after they vanished. They reappeared now. 12 OF THEM. EACH DOUBLED UP OVER THE TOP OF EACH OTHER, THIS TIME MOVING MUCH SLOWER, NOT FALLING BELOW THE HORIZON AND SLIGHTLY LARGER. THEY WERE ALL VERY DEFINED LIGHTS. I COUL! D EVEN SEE THEM CLEARLY WITHOUT MY GLASSES ON FOR A MOMENT. AND THEN THEY WERE GONE!!!

Never thought I would file a UFO report but here it is. I saw a large triangle shaped craft move from north to south above coon rapids BLVD in coon rapids, MN. I was in my car heading east on Foley BLVD. Craft was much larger than any drone I have ever seen and what I searched online. Imagine the size of a seaplane in the sky. It was not that far above the road, that is what made me think drone when I saw it. I still think it was drone because it had no blinking lights or engines. in addition, it had no middle. Imagine a straw bent into a triangle. three solid sides but no middle. that is the shape of it so no room for cockpit that I could see. My best guess is a very large remote operated drone. I can't find a picture online even close so its a UFO. Witness indicates that the date of the sighting is approximate. PD

Coon Rapids, MN
There were several craft coming from the North West sky in Coon Rapids, MN. They were basically in a formation as far as travelling through the sky. Some were single and some flew in pairs or in triple formation. They were glowing bright orange almost like fireballs. They were at a fairly low level and not at a great rate of speed. Although as they passed overhead towards the Blaine Airport (Southern direction) their speed increased, the brightness of the "fireball" dimmed and they pretty much vanished into the night sky. They were totally silent. Stealth silent. I tried to get their attention by the flashing light on my phone, but it did not really seem to affect the pattern they were travelling, or speed. They pretty much paid no attention to it. We stood outside hoping to see more flying over but no more were seen. Very interesting.
