Un témoin observe, le jeudi 3 octobre 2013 à 19h40, deux points fixes lumineux avançant silencieusement de façon symétrique et à la même vitesse. L'observation de deux points lumineux semblables à des étoiles, traversant le ciel continuement en ligne droite, évoque nettement un passage de deux satellites. Une vérification avec le site Calsky.com montre le passage, à la même heure sur une trajectoire correspondant à l'observation, du triplet de satellites d'observation chinois Yaogan17, lancé le 1er septembre 2013. Ces satellites sont réputés réfléchir le soleil assez peu (magnitude 5 à 6), mais peuvent probablement être orientés de telle façon qu'ils deviennent alors plus lumineux. Voir une vidéo d'autres satellites de la série Yaogan satellites Yaogan. Ceci pourrait expliquer pourquoi le témoin en voit 2 et non 3. Le GEIPAN classe ce cas "B" observation très probable de satellites Yaogan. [GEIPAN classification B — Triplet de satellites]
