Poway, CA

So, I decided to take my dog outside to let her do her business, and I heard a jet coming in overhead, so I looked up as I usually do when that happens, and I found the jet and followed it for a couple seconds to see if I could see the jet without its lights blinking. It never occurred to me at the moment that fighter jets don't usually have all their lights off, save for a singular blinking red light. Then seemingly out of nowhere, right next to it, I saw a yellowish ball of light appear for around four seconds, flying adjacent to the jet, and then it disappeared. I kept watching the jet to see if the light would reappear, and then the ball of light came back for the same duration as before and disappeared again, then it came back again for a total of three times... It didn't look like any man-made aircraft I had ever seen before, and it did not make a sound like two jets do when flying in unison. It didn't have any blinking lights on it when the large yellowish-white ball of light would fade out. It wasn't very bright and didn't give off a lot of light, but it was clearly visible, and bigger than the jet and a little faster than the jet itself. It seemed as though jet was chasing it. Two more fighter jets appeared no more than five minutes after the sighting heading in the same direction. At the time of writing this, I heard another jet outside and went to look at it and low and behold, it was flying in the same direction as the other jets and the object. I live relatively near an airbase here in San Diego so the response time of these jets is very fast. My dog did not react to this sighting, as far as I could tell, because my eyes were glued to the sky.

Kansas City, MO

Witnessing an object identical to one I saw in 2012 that was documented on the news in Blue Springs, MO, which occured over several days. Stationary light in the sky, what I believe to be southeastern in direction. Looks akin to a very bright star, with flickering and pulsing of different colors. (Red, green, blue, white.) We suspect a sighting of Venus, or Cappella. PD

Des Moines, IA

Two crafts, flashing orange and white lights, flying low and slow.

Wyeville, WI

Driving down hwy 21 towards Wyeville from Tomah, noticed the lights halfway through Wyeville. 5 of the lights were in a straight line, as if attached to a craft. As the lights vanished instantaneously, there was a shotgun blast of more lights, only way I can think to describe it.

St. George Island, FL

On October 17, 2017, my friend and I were on a motorcycle trip from Mobile, AL, to Daytona, FL. We had stopped off at St. George Island, which is just south of Apalachicola FL, to check out a pub that’s on the island. We decided to leave the island around dusk, maybe 7p. As we were heading back North on the bridge that connects St George Island to the mainland, I noticed a red light that kind of peaked up about level, with the bridge to where I could see it. It was hard to tell exactly how big it was or its shape, but it seemed to me that it was about the size of a small car. It was off the west side of the bridge about 30 yards away and over water. We were miles from the mainland about the middle of the bridge. I was quite puzzled as to what this light may be. Just about then it seemed to lock in on our speed and started following us. We must have been doing about 65 mph. I was the lead bike with my friend in the rear. This light followed us for several minutes and then it went away. It was hard for me to see where it went as I was mostly concentrating on the road ahead of me. After crossing the bridge I immediately pulled over and so did my friend. We just kind of looked at each other for a minute puzzled. Finally, as I began to ask him what in the hell was that, he says to me, “I don’t know!”.

Rochester, NH

While traveling southbound on Rt 125 in Rochester, I observed 2 very bright white lights oriented vertically in the sky (one above the other). The light on top was stationary. The lower light was observed at about 1/2 the distance from the top light to the ground, moving right to left. They appeared to be positioned in the direction of Barrington or Madbury, but distance was difficult to ascertain. No contrails or aircraft outlines were observed. After viewing the lights for about 15-20 seconds, both vanished simultaneously and did not reappear.

Dearing, GA

My fiance and I observed several blinking lights hovering almost like they was watching us. We fled the scene only to see we couldn't leave them. Also so a bunch of stars gathering together to form some type of 3D looking object that moved from right to left very slowly. The lights that followed us had flashes of red in them sometimes. Maybe Drones, but why are there so many?

Spout spring, VA

I saw an orange light moving west to east. Object seems to change direction occasionally. Did not hear jet engines, or propeller. Altitude was approximately 5000 ft. Object was south of me. Object did not make any sudden moves during its flight. I am sure it wasn’t a meteor it was moving too slow. Only a single light was seen, no flickering, was a lot larger than any aircraft light I have seen. Light didn’t appear to luminate like a search light used on aircraft.

Overland Park, KS

My kids and I were outside in our driveway at approximately 9:00pm on 10/16/17. My daughter drew my attention to many pinpoints of light flying overhead. They appeared to me to look and move the way a satellite appears in the sky however, they did not appear as if they were at height altitude because the pinpoints looked brighter and just seemed like they were not that high in the air. As I stated they tracked like a satellite, we’re moving in the same direction and not uniform. They moved at different speeds with some passing others, The speeds were not that fast while some moved faster than others. No audible sound. There were probably no more than 5 in any given ‘row’. This phenomenon was observed for at least one minute as we just looked up in amazement as they passed up. This event scared my 12 year old daughter. I have never seen anything like this and could only compare the points of light to how a satellite looks in the sky having only seen one at an! astronomical meet. I told my daughter that this is what a UFO is. It only means that we don’t know what it is, not that it must be alien. At that time I could only guess that could have been drones which I also found hard to believe. A coworker told me it could have been re-entry debris form a satellite or something. I have just today discovered that the Pentagon has developed drone swarms. I would expect a drone swarm at night to look like what we saw. The problem is there are no Air Force bases that close to Overland Park,KS and I have to wonder about fuel/battery life. Also, why over this suburban community. I do not believe in ghosts nor do I believe aliens are flying around among us. I don’t know what they were but I believe there is reasonable explanation.

Las Cruces, NM

I don't know what I saw but it didn't seem like a flying object of any kind. I had just finished my run on Sonoma Ranch Boulevard between Lohman and Dripping Springs. It's very dark out there in the desert and I saw a bright light to the north, just below the Big Dipper and very close to the horizon. It had white and red light, with maybe green too. My night vision isn't very good so I tried putting on my glasses but that seemed to make it worse. I thought it was a planet or star and thought I would look it up when I got home. It wasn't moving so that's why I thought it was a planet or star. I looked down in my car for a minute because I was syncing my sports watch with the app, and then when I looked up, the light was completely gone, so obviously it wasn't a planet or star and that freaked me out a little. I wish I knew if there were aircraft in the area, but I don't know how to look it up.

Salinas, CA

On 3:40 pm in California, I went outside to my balcony because I had a headache all day and I wanted to lay down on the couch outside. As I sat facing northern Cali, I saw a falcon close by and behind it what appeared to be flock of ducks or gooses I thought to my self that are fleeing the fire in the north. As they came closer they started dispersing into groups of one two and threes, and they looked more like lights hovering rather than flying and moving smoothly in a harmonious balanced motion. I called on my daughter to get me my phone and to validate my sightings, she was not able to spit them, meanwhile my camera did. I have a video of 1:20sec long. After they crossed my apartment, I stopped the video and rushed outside to maybe take more videos, and see where they are going, but they went out of sight and towards the sun direction. I went back home and checked the video, they were clearly shown after I zoomed it while taking the pictures

Kent, WA

I'm not sure of the exact time it happened, but it was dark. I had just stepped outside to smoke a cigarette. I saw a bright light shooting down from the sky toward the ground. It disappeared behind the houses that were in my view. I expected to hear a crash, but there was no sound. It was fast and silent. Shooting star? Not sure. There were several commercial jets flying their usual flight paths higher and slower than this object, so they surely must have seen it. I am curious to see if there will be other reports during the same evening and what they saw.

Wichita, KS

My son and I were in the car driving to his bus stop. We saw what appeared to be a shooting star moving diagonally. Which was strange, because it was slower than other shooting stars I had seen previously, and moving in a diagonal fashion. Then it stopped, and just hovered, so I thought maybe it was an airplane... but it didn't move closer, it just stayed right there on the horizon. I wanted to watch it longer, but we had to move on. I kept looking back to see if it had moved, but it was still there on the horizon. Once we parked, I looked again, and it was gone. All I know, is that it was not a shooting star - maybe it was a satellite, but it most definitely was not an airplane.

10/12/11, 8:00pm, clear sky, no clouds. Sunset at 6:32pm I was outside in my backyard and looked up to the north. I saw a stationary brilliant white light in the sky. It appeared to get bigger and brighter. I thought I was seeing a star explode. I located the Big Dipper and the North Star in the sky. This object was down to the right of the North Star and almost level to the second star that points the way to the North Star. It was the length of my index finger away from the North Star. It stayed in the same location for about two to three minutes, then slowly dimmed away to nothing over about 20 seconds. I continued to watch, but could not see anything in the sky close to that spot afterwards. I have seen airplanes that shine a bright light as they are coming toward you that appear to be stationary. But they eventually move and you can tell it’s a plane. If it were a helicopter, I did not hear any noise. Would a helicopter light take 20 seconds to dim? This was the brightest light that I have ever seen. I have also watched satellites and the ISS fly overhead. Sometimes they catch the sun and shine brighter for a bit, but you can see that they are moving and can still follow them when they dim. I am not sure how long it was in that location before I saw it, but it stayed stationary for the few minutes that I watched it before it dimmed away.

Olympia, WA

I noticed a bright light in the sky, pretty close to directly overhead. It was on a course approximately 160 degrees. I normally can spot satellites around this time, I've seen lights that later I found out were the ISS or Chinese Space Station, but its direction was not correct for a satellite from what I've read. It' course was not a straight line either, making left and right alternating s-turns. I eventually lost sight of the object in the clads on the horizon. Lewis McChord airbase is to the east and I did not see navigation lights or strobes. I used to be a private pilot and worked at the airport for an airline as a gate agent for 15 years, so I know aircraft lights. It was a solid, non blinking white light. Being that it was heading away from me I doubt it could have been landing lights because those usually face frontward. I would guess that the direction took it toward the Olympia regional airport in Tumwater, but the movement was really odd, usually planes go in straight lines outside of airport airspace, and do not zig zag. The speed was hard to judge without being able to tell distance, but seemed to not be unusual

Salida, CO

We took our dog out for his evening stroll and saw a bright light moving rapidly across the sky, flying from the WNW toward the ESE. At first we thought it might be the space station but it was moving very quickly and silently, was in the wrong location and moving in the wrong direction. Then, it disappeared completely. There were no clouds in the sky. We continued walking and then noticed another light, just as bright, just as silent, following in the same path across the sky. We stopped to watch it--and it disappeared at approximately the same place the first one did. Several high altitude jets went by during the time we were out, and we watched them to ensure that we had seen something different. The planes had the traditional flashing lights and sound, so we are certain these lights were not planes.

Took out my phone to take a video and they stopped. Over the sky toward Boston MA. Fuzzy oval white lights. Possibly advertising lights? PD

UK/Wales · United Kingdom

This object would just be a single ball of light and I would always look through the binoculars to get a better look and it would still be a single ball of light. What the object would do is just cruise through the night sky at, I would say, a decent speed (hard to tell at night). These light spheres are a light orange. I would not like to share my background information for safety reasons. Witness elects to remain totally anonymous; provides no contact information. PD

Cumberland, RI

At around 2am I laid down to sleep and noticed a bright light in the sky that should have been moving if it were an airplane or satellite. Instead, it flashed/shimmered in one spot. Sometimes the flash would be on the right side and then on the left later. It just hovered in the same spot in the sky. After about 45 minutes of watching it I finally fell asleep. Initially I thought it was a dying star but it was exponentially brighter than anything else in sky. Additionally, the flashing/shimmering wasn’t on side, then the other, not all over it.
