Le 29 septembre 1987 deux témoins vont observer durant quelques secondes un phénomène lumineux. Un point brillant d'un diamètre plus important que celui d'une étoile filante se déplace rapidement dans un ciel très dégagé. Après une trajectoire pratiquement rectiligne, ce point blanc va s'éteindre. La description indique qu'il s'agit vraisemblablement d'une rentrée atmosphérique.
