Le témoin observe régulièrement des lumières jaunes au Sud Est, qui apparaissent, se déplacent légèrement et disparaissent. La direction d'observation du témoin correspond à la zone où, par vent d'Ouest ou Nord-Ouest, les avions venant du Sud s'alignent sur la piste de l'aérodrome d'Orly (voir carte). Le témoin voit seulement les phares d'atterrissage de ces avions, qui sont très directionnels : il ne les voit donc que lorsque l'avion est de face. L'avion est trop loin (20km) pour que l'on distingue ses feux de position rouge-vert ou même ses feux clignotants. Le témoin a observé le phénomène de nombreuses fois en janvier et début février, alors que les vents étaient de secteur Ouest ou Nors-Ouest ; il ne les a pas vus les 12 et 13 car, le vent soufflant de Nord-Est ou Sud, l'approche d'Orly se fait alors par l'Ouest. Le témoin pourra identifier en temps réel les avions qu'ils observent en consultant :traffic aérien Ce cas est classé "B" : observations probables d'avions de ligne avant atterrissage.
