At approximately 9:15 pm tonight, 7/30/16, my wife and I were driving home from Deer Park, NY. It had been raining most of the afternoon and part of the evening, when the rain subsided, and the skies finally started to clear a bit. Suddenly, directly above me and in front headed West to East, I saw a series of red lights in the sky. It looked like a zig zag pattern that made like a contellation type of pattern... tough to describe! Only it was not a constellation, but rather a series of triangular red and white lights. There were over 20 of these and then gradually it became only 4 and then 0. I called my in laws to run out and see this. They stepped onto their patio and witnessed the same! Both my inlaws and I tried to get an image or fil on our phones, but were unable to do so. The lights were not faint...they were very bright red lights. ((ADDENDUM FROM WITNESS)) Thank you, Peter! My husband and I went out for a walk in our neighborhood. I always look up into the sky and star gaze and as I did this I saw a bright orange circle coming toward us. It was about the size of a low flying plane but was completely circular, bright orange like fire, and silent. I said, "look a ufo!" My husband said "what is that?!". Then it stopped and hovered right in our line of vision. My husband kept trying to come up with explanations for what it was. A Chinese lantern, drone. But it wasnt. It had stopped! It was early, only about 9:15, so we could see people in their houses and I wanted to call to them to come see the ufo! After watching it for about a minute it moved in a different direction from how it was traveling before, to the right and traveled across the sky into the clouds out of site. I have no doubt what we saw was the real thing. My husband is a huge skeptic and he said now he is a believer! The whole time we witnessed this I kept saying, "see I told you! It's a ufo! They're here!"

Saw one white glowing object sphere shaped. I was at the bottom of newport rd in Irondequoit, New york parked facing north at the irondequoit bay. To the west of me I noticed a glowing sphere about 500 feet above the tree lines. I told the other 3 people in my car ans they noticed it as well. They were all scared I got out of my car by myself and approached the object. It straded descending lower and lower as I approached it. It hovered at the same place barley moving for about 10 minutes. All of a sudden, it headed upwards and north at great speed for about a second then vanished. Went back to my car and it would not start battery charge was drained had to get my car jumped.

I was driving south on Bankrupt Road. I saw bright lights (2-3) in the sky and I thought it was a plane or helicopter. I keep driving and I notice the intensity of the lights are very bright and the craft is moving fast. I picked up speed, creeping towards 60mph. I noticed it was quickly headed towards the horizon. I started faster towards 48, hoping to see it. It sunk behind a tree line so I gunned it to the next open field. In the 5 seconds it took, the UFO had already sunk below the horizon. This event took maybe 5 minutes, tops. I rolled my window down and turned off the radio to check for any noise. None.

Last week, I woke up one night at 3:30 a.m. to turn off the fan I had running in my upstairs bedroom window. The blinds were pulled up and I looked out to see the meadow and trees behind my townhouse. To my surprise, up in the sky – several miles away was something I have never seen before. It was a long rectangle with rounded ends. It was white – glowing – large and quiet. There were blinking lights on one end of it. It moved very slowly through the night sky while keeping parallel to the earth but moving closer to the ground before going what seemed to be straight down. Then it was obliterated by the trees and I could not see it any more. I know it was not a plane – it was too low in the sky and too large to not be heard. Also, it did not move like one. I was transfixed by it. I always thought I would feel great excitement or fear if I ever saw one, but I didn’t. It just mesmerized me. After it disappeared I went to bed. I have not seen it since. I am a college educated, open-minded and grounded person. I understand this may not have been a UFO – but for the life of me, I cannot imagine what else it could have been. WEATHER CONDITIONS: CLEAR NIGHT TIME SKIES TEMPERATURE: 73 DEGREES DEWPOINT: IN THE 50’s Orange/redish ball of light with bright yellow/white inner spot sighted due west approximately 1 mile away. Object viewed as repeatedly hovering then moving semi-erratically. First viewed from my home and again one block away on a street corner. Object continued to hover, moved slowly then appeared to have dimmed and disappeared shooting straight up into the sky. Distance of upward motion was short. Object made no sound. Total viewing time was approximately 10 minutes. NOTES: NOAA IR satellite data confirmed no clouds in the area during the above noted timeframe object was witnessed.

two times in the last 2 weeks, myself and one other person saw what looked like a single object with multicolor lights sit in the sky and not move for a long period of time. The first time I saw it I was at a park in Newark Valley, NY, about 13 miles from where we just saw the one on the report. That one, after a long time in one spot, changed its light to a solid bright white light and took off across the sky. The one from tonight I watched w/ binoculars for about 1hr and went back inside. The 1st time I saw it the first thing we could think of was it was a chinese candle deal, but it stayed in one spot. Second thought it could be a drone, but it was to big to be one to see it as far away as it appeared

A looming, glowing, egg-shaped object appeared in the sky at around 10:30 pm and began to hover left and right up and down across what was guesstimated to be the JFK bridge. The egg flashed between red, white and a greenish tinge but would resume to a glowing white while stationary and didn't move at all. It suddenly would go off (become dark but still slightly visible) the bottom of the shape was dimly lit. The object was in the sky for a good 30 minutes repeating the movements and changing of color as it crossed along the back of Manhattan from the view of outer Manhattan. The object then began to hover slowly along the Manhattan line (behind the city/the Hudson presumably) and stopped right about at the Upper West Side area and disappeared in a split second completely.

This object didn't move. It flashed lights approx every 30 seconds which included red & white bright lights in circular motions with bursts. When not light it had luminous lighting. It never moved! I first thought a blimp but this was round not oval. I've never seen anything like it. At approx 11:30 pm, in front of my eyes, it vanished in a split second. A blimp would not do that! Freaky!

I was out taking nature photographs in New York state. When I got home, I looked at my photos and found an object in one of them. I took 3 photos in 1 minute and noticed the object in only one photo. I will say the shutter speed on my Nikon camera was 1/500. Can you help me identify the object in the photo? We believe that the blurry, gray object may be a bird or insect in flight. PD

((ADDENDUM FROM WITNESS)) Hello again, Mr. Davenport! The precise date was last Saturday, July 16 2016. I cannot be too precise about the time ... it was between 10:00PM and 11PM. For certain it was not after 11PM (I was on the balcony with my father during the sighting, then he left to watch the 11 local news). That Saturday, I helped my sister packing (she's moving to her new house), and I was very tired. I didn't come home from my sister before 9-9:30PM so the time I went out on the balcony must have been between 10:30PM and 11PM. I forgot to mention that the spheres were quite big (my father was able to see them, his vision isn't too good). Bigger than, let's say, the lights attached to the wings of an airplane. Their size, color and movement had caught my eye. Since that evening I searched the net to see if other people have had similar sightings (red spheres). I found a couple of video clips, with different dates and locations, only in them the spheres were blinking. I didn't know about this kind of spheres before I am familiar with the UFO phenomenon, actually, I had had another sighting many years ago, not in the States. Mr. Davenport, if you want the exact location/position of the sighting, I can give you my home address. With Google Earth you can access my street, which has at one end the highway wall (the sighting was above the wall, the spheres appeared from behind the wall, then disappeared only to reappear again, a couple of times). In July of 2016, my girlfriend and I were invited to our friends' house on Greenwood Lake, a nine mile long lake in Orange County, NY. My friends' house is right on the lake, with a large deck overlooking it. This was probably our tenth dinner invitation at their home. Another couple was there as well. Dinner was on the deck as usual. After sundown, the sky was fabulous. Fifty miles away from the lights of NYC there's very little light pollution so it's a great place to watch the cosmos. This night was clear without a cloud in the sky. One of my friends' guests and I talked about the amazing sky over the lake and about constellations. I told him I didn't know much about them but I had a Sky app on my iPad. I gave him my iPad and went back to the discussion on 1950s be-bop or something. About ten minutes later he asked me what that constellation was. He pointed over the horizon across the lake. I spotted it, took the iPad and pointed it at the three bright stars he indicated and didn't find it either. I said it was just three stars so it might not be a constellation at all. Maybe that's why it didn't make the app. "But they're moving!" I looked again and, sure enough, they were, albeit very slowly. They were moving due west and they were moving independent of each other. They had a roughly triangular formation, with a “lead” object but they seemed to be moving at different and varying speeds relative to one another. They were bright, solid white, showed no navigation beacons and made no sound. I couldn't tell how high they were but a passenger jet heading due north, probably flying a polar route to Asia, flew into view and I could tell by its size that it was flying at at least 30,000 feet. It flew under these lights. At this point, dinner party conversation ceased as all six pairs of eyes were glued to what we were witnessing. All I heard were murmured comments like “Are they... drones?” and “Do you hear anything?” It was evident by now, even to our hosts who had lived for 40 years on that lake and seen hundreds of meteor shows, that this wasn’t a normal celestial event. The lights were stopping and starting which means they could hover and no rotary wing aircraft flies that high. So they definitely weren't helicopters and they weren't drones. Maybe they were weather balloons and the light was actually the sun over the horizon reflecting off their mylar skins? But these balloons were moving due west, which is contrary to the jet stream. I also knew from my recently-deceased older brother who was president of an amateur ballooning club in Colorado that they no longer used mylar for balloons. Mylar used to be used to bounce radar signals off a balloon to track its position but modern balloons carry their own telemetry now. My brother used to build them. So they weren't aircraft and they weren't balloons. Someone said "ball lightning?" I didn’t know but I did look it up later. Ball lightning is plasma and usually associated with the highly charged air around thunderstorms and the sky was clear with no storms forecast. I saw ball lightning when I was a kid but I'd never heard of ball lighting being this high or lasting this long. We had been watching this for over five minutes. Suddenly my girlfriend exclaimed, "Look at that!" She pointed to the horizon across the lake where we'd first seen these lights but this one light was very low to the ground. Everybody gasped because it was so much closer and it glowed bright red, like a Roman candle. It definitely wasn’t a conventional aircraft. She said she saw it come up from behind a low mountain about two miles away. I saw it hovering over the mountain. Then it shot straight up, stopped for about 15 seconds around 2500 feet AGL and hovered again. Then it slowly moved north about what I estimated at that distance might be a half mile. It hovered again. I looked back at the three lights and saw that they had suddenly turned due north. The red object shot up at extremely high speed and in the direction of the three lights. By “high speed” I mean that it disappeared into the noise of the star canopy in less than two seconds. When I looked back at the three-light formation it had also disappeared. I’m not a believer in space alien visitations. I’m not even a believer in secret government technology as advanced as what I saw. I’m still not. I'm not saying what I, rather we, saw. I have no idea what it was. I just know what it wasn't, which was anything familiar to me and I'm an aircraft junkie. I think the rapid movements of the last object I saw would have killed a human occupant. No, there were no pharmaceuticals at the party and drinking was light and social because most of us were driving home on those dark, deer-infested back roads. We’ve since spoken with each other about this event only a couple of times but I know my hosts are uncomfortable with the subject, as if they were subjected to a mass psychosis event and don’t want to be regarded as public kooks. I told my brother what I'd seen. He used to be a Navy fighter jock (A4s) during the Vietnam War. He told me about a mysterious three-light formation he'd seen over the Spratly Islands in the early 1970s when he was stationed at Cubi Point in the Philippines. What he described was almost identical to what we saw. What was remarkable was that he never told me about it until I brought it up, as if he too was embarrassed by it. He never filed the sighting in an official report either but told me that lots of pilots had seen stuff like this on night flights. You didn’t report it unless you wanted to be grounded.

Looked up saw bright light brilliant green. Kept looking then realized it wasn't a star. In the western sky. I noticed it was making various movement sideways & up & down. I don't know how long it was there before I first saw it. I recorded it on my phone for 42 seconds then stopped. In the next 20 seconds the front on right turned brilliant red then shot off in the south-western Sky

The description of what I saw was it had a solid red light and a blinking green light, to the left of the red light. I think it was one object but the blinking green light could have possibly been a second object. It hovered for about a minute and then quickly traveled in a straight line northwest, about 2,000 feet, and immediately, with no pause or anything, traveled in the same straight line back to its original position. (This all happened in about 2 seconds) (Also I saw the red light but I can't remember seeing the green light at this time.) (The red light remained level and did not teeter toter when it accelerated and decelerated.) It then hovered for about 5 seconds (showing both red and green lights) and then slowly traveled west behind a building until I couldn't see it anymore. The whole time, this thing made no noise. I can't remember how high it hovered but I know it was close enough that if it were a drone or something, it would have made a slight noise. Besides the red and green lights and also with the darkness of the night's sky, I couldn't make out a structure behind the lights. My daughter and son was out in the front of our home with the dog and as I was walking from the back of the house to meet her she was telling me about a plane she was watching and asking me if it was a plane or not. I looked up in the sky and saw a golden orange craft slowly flying in the sky, but to the northern part of the sky there was an actual plane flying and I showed her the difference between the two. Then my husband was coming up the driveway to meet us and we showed him what we were watching. Then only a min or two later 2-3 other crafts with the same color glow joined in after the first one stopped and the lights dimmed to look as if it was a faint star off in the distance. My cell phone is broken and was unable to capture anything but below is basically the shape I remember it forming in the sky before each craft’s lights faded to a very dim light. You would have to have been watching the entire time to see they were still there or would think! was a star in the distance. The dog was starting to whine for a min or so while we were watching and then we all headed inside kinda freaked out.

I went to see my aunt in NY for dinner and fireworks on July 3rd, 2016. After we ate and lit some fireworks we decided to go to the back of the house and watch the neighbor's light show towards the Northeast. As that wound down I just had that urge to look up towards the Eastern sky and I noticed a dim "star" start moving North within the triangular star formation I was using for reference. I then noticed another dim object moving South from the same area. I then got my daughter and my cousin to hone in on these dim, high altitude objects moving counter to each other. I finally got my aunt to see the last 1 or 2 objects. Usually, satellites move at a steady pace across the sky. Not back and forth in a "confined" area. And not 4 or 5 of them in the same area. Similar to a siting I made from my New Milford, CT, home early 2016, facing West (toward NY) at 3:30am. I could not sleep that night. Was stargazing to the West then suddenly the "bright star" shot up and out and dimmed accordingly as if leaving Earth orbit at high speed. I can't explain these sitings.

From the northern skies of the Catskills a bright light started moving thirds us as we sat on our porch in Kerhonkson NY. The lights are fogging and pulsing and bright. Heavy rains have been in the area for hours and it seems like meteor activity. Please advise.

I was in my back yard with my son flying a RC airplane when I just happend to see a cylinder shaped object above the clouds. I tried to keep an eye on it but I didnt want to crash my airplane so I had to switch between the plane and object while I landed the plane. I observed the white colored object go behind the clouds and reappear. The thing appeared to move very slow and made no noise. I can't really say as to the size of the object with nothing else in the sky to compare it to but if I had to guess I would say the length of an airliner but twice the diameter. The object had just a dull white color, no markings, and nothing that would suggest control surfaces or engines. Once I landed my RC plane which was about 30 seconds after I spotted the object, It had disappeared. I did not see it vanish nor did I hear anything. There were only a few clouds in the sky that evening so I dont think it could just hide in a cloudbank.
