Sphere over Murdock, FL
A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.
The report, as filed
We where traveling on veterans blvd in Port Charlotte fl heading east from Murdock towards Charlotte harbor when we Saw an orange colored sphere with a reddish comet like tail. The tail slowly disappeared and we could still see the object it was slightly dimmer than when we first sighted it going south then turning eastward it was gaining elevation slower than a commercial plane. If I had to estimate its size I would say 2 times the size of a commercial airliner.
Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #179758). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.
Ask for the records
What would the paper say?
For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
