Light over Spotswood, NJ

A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.

The report, as filed

Swarm of 12-15 lights with a slight orange or red glow flying at a medium slow pace to the southwest. All lights were flying at the same speed but at different altitudes. They were flying low over the horizon, from my perspective they were just above the tree tops to about 35-60 degrees moving left to right. There was no sound that I could detect that I could attribute to the lights. There were no blinking lights. There was a slight twinkle to the lights similar to the kind of atmospheric disturbance one sees with stars. A few others were standing in the street watching. I captured video of the phenomenon but cannot seem to attach it to this form. If you would like me to send the video please contact me.

Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #178868). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

Ask for the records

What would the paper say?

For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
