The report, as filed
My family and I had just finished dinner outdide on a cool, clear autumn night. My son had just pulled out his night vision goggles to look for coyotes and other night creatures. I had been wanting to look through them myself. As I said this I suddenly noticed a large light in the northwestern sky, which was a little hazy. I thought it looked strange. Not a normal airplane or other aircraft. Bigger, solid light. I pointed it out and my wife and son saw it too. As it flew just west of my property, it suddenly spewed some sort of illuminated "material." My wife and I were shocked. It then vanished from view. Never seen anything like it. Ask for the records
What would the paper say?
For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
