I was smoking a cigarette and watching the sky, a very bright orb appeared at what I would guess was between 5000-10000 ft and shot toward the ground almost at 90 degrees and disappeared before it would've passed behind a short building in front of me. It was extremely fast, no tail like a meteor, no change in brightness or sound. The best way to describe the orb was just like the intensity of a headlight on a car straight ahead of someone, but it shines in all directions. Lasted about .5-1 second. I am a nerd who plane watches, sky watches, and am very mechanically inclined and have good reasoning abilities. This was very straightforward in terms of what I saw, but I can't explain what it was, it was like nothing I have ever seen. About 30 minutes there was a LADD FAA plane on adsb exchange doing a low circle in the area I observed the orb.
