Light over Springtown, TX

A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.

The report, as filed

The only way I can describe this. I went outside at 5 o'clock in the morning Saturday morning. I sit down as drinking some coffee. I look up and I see 2 objects in the sky. And I'm thinking it's a plane or it's a drum. The more I got to look at it more it was not a drone one of them wouldn't Come down close to me , but the other one did and I seen it I because it was like it was playing a game. It would look at me and go back up then it would come back down . It look like A fairy. It was flapping his wings so fast, This did this for over an hour. Then I got tired and I turned around and was going into the house. I seen another one This one was bigger, it had multiple colors and it was just sitting there. I got some footage of this one actually moving and the other 2 going over to it. I cannot explain it by writing this. That 1 did look like UFO..

Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #176788). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

What would the paper say?

For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.

Lights in "mostly" single file formation traveling from SW to NE. Noticed six or seven initially. Then noticed more appearing from seemingly nowhere. Very vague dim light at first growing brighter as they traveled. Once they were in full view they were as bright as the brightest star in that area. They seamed to appear one after the other in groups of four to seven equally spaced except occasionally two very close to each other. Could not tell where they were appearing from. Was as though they were skimming through the upper atmosphere straight above me then disappearing into the distance. Their were no flashing beacons or sound that I could hear. I stood there and counted for several minutes, counted twenty two before I went back inside to wake the wife. Of course by the time she returned with me, there was nothing.

Every night at about 10pm I step outside for a cigarette and to see the Texas stars. Tonight, some sort of craft, which literally had no sound flew in an odd pattern overhead. Large planes, small private craft, and at times helicopters fly over, but obviously they all have sound. This was some sort of aircraft with a lit arc on top that was visible, with about 3 to 4 spread out lights underneath that appeared to be rotating. I was in the USAF – and I’ve NEVER seen a craft like that, whether from the flightline or up in the sky. Plus the flight pattern was extremely swift and “rounded” without any sound. It actually made me feel strange to watch it…like a sinking feeling - I’ve never experienced that with visualizing aircraft before. The arced light was like a constant bar/stream, and the lights underneath were rotating. It wasn’t a toy, because I work in advertising, and I know what toy or drone craft look like. So for me, this was something completely unidentifiable/odd/unknown. Out in Springtown, if it were of conventional technology, I would have heard some sort of noise from the aircraft –but it was silent. It flew in like a slingshot style of pattern – not a conventional straight overhead pattern. The lights never “tilted”. From my iPhone compass, I was literally standing at 32 degrees, 57’28” N 97 degrees, 40’36” W, 860 ft elevation.

I was walking back from the mailbox and was looking at the contrails and cirrus clouds. I noticed what I thought was a jet in the western sky flying from east to west, but then noticed it wasn’t making a contrail. I stopped to look more closely and saw that it was an oblong (short cigar shaped) object without wings. It was slightly too long and thin to be any of the blimps/dirigibles I had every seen. It was very high, guessing somewhere above the level of the contrails and moving very fast for what I thought the altitude to be. It appeared very light grey/tan, just a little darker than the clouds. I was hoping to get another look after it passed behind a very wide contrail, but never saw it again.
