Sphere over Crittenden, KY

A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.

The report, as filed

I was observing the sky while driving down the interstate, the sun had already came above the horizon and I noticed this bright orb in the middle of the sky, it did not have the shape of a plane but I continued to keep an eye on it to try and see the telltale signs of blinking red lights which are usually on planes. The object had no blinking lights and I thought for a second that if it was a plane maybe it was heading directly towards me and that's why it didn't seem to move. It wasn't long after that thought the orb disappeared and reappeared some distance away from its original position. It started to climb in an angle at a rate of speed to quick or a plane. Once it reached a certain altitude it stopped again and vanished. Not vanish as in it took off or left my line of sight but vanished right out of thin air, like it was able to turn on a cloaking or camouflage system instantly.

Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #174581). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

Ask for the records

What would the paper say?

For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
