Light over Hickory, NC
A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.
The report, as filed
I took my dog out to the backyard one last time before bed right at midnight. It was cloudy/foggy/hazy out as it had stormed earlier. There was a blue light about the size of a basketball circling my house maybe just below the treetops (perhaps 80 feet?). It was moving quickly in an oval pattern and seemed "interested" in the roof. I thought it MUST be a reflection or some kind of spotlight, but I watched from my backyard for 8-10 minutes and ruled out any possibility that it could be either of those. It seemed to be the source of the light itself. The light was constant (other than moving). It did not flicker or pulse. It was not a structure. More like energy. I remember thinking it looked like a little blue comet circling the roof. But it kept going and going. So I went inside to see if my husband was awake (he was not) and looked out the front windows to the street to see if there was anything/anyone out there (nothing) and grabbed my cell phone and came back to the backyard. It was still there only lower to the house (maybe 20-30 feet above the roof if that). I tried to take a video, but nothing showed up on the screen, so I just watched a few more minutes. But then I felt like it "noticed" me or something, it came down a few more feet (still above the roof) and began an irregular path (like watching a heartbeat or something--zig-zaggy--up and down but still moving in oval over the roofline). Then I was a little concerned about being out there alone and returned inside the house. My dog never reacted to it and there was no sound coming from it.

What would the paper say?
For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.

I could see a small light the size of a far away start (not blinking) and it was making a circular motion vertically over and over. I saw this vertical circular motion 4 times. When it would make a loop, you could see half of the loop then it would go up and disappear for about 15 seconds and come back down again to continue its loop. After the loop stopped, 2 objects flew across the sky very high up(again not flashing) and moving at a fast speed while another came in the opposite direction towards them and past them. All the aircrafts were up as high as a satellite would be and moving at a very fast speed. After they passed through the sky, no more were seen after looking for another 20 minutes.

Two small orange spheres moving really fast across the sky. They would change directions and weave while in flight. Traveled across the entire sky we could see.

I observed a round pulsing object that was bright orange and glowing. It left no trail nor emitted sound. I first noticed the object in clear skies at 9 pm at night facing West/North West at 295 degrees. The object was slowly traveling straight down followed by a leveling off curve to the left then level horizontal for a distance. During the leveling off curve and horizontal movement, the object slowed dramatically and at one point was almost no longer moving. The pulsing orange light may have been caused by a rotation of the object. The edges were fuzzy and the shape seemed to change with the pulsing. I did not have a camera at the time and I went inside to get me wife to see it. When we returned, it was no longer visible. We spoke via telephone with the witness, and found him to be both eloquent, and sober-minded, about his sighting. We suspect that he is a highly qualified witness. PD

I was fixing a cup of coffee around 6 am, looked out the window and in the northern part of the sky about 20 to 25 degrees above the horizon traveling from east to west was a bright sparkling light. At first glance it was not moving then it stared moving slowly toward the west. I observed it for about a minute before the view was obstructed by the treeline.
