Light over Tama, IA
A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.
The report, as filed
On home back porch observatory, at 9:30 PM roughly, I noticed a single, bright non-star light, moving slightly at first and then erratically high above and near apex of our home, at 202 Red Earth Drive, on the north side. By 9:42 PM, to distinguish between a plane and said moving light, an iPad captured differences between aircraft and single bright light which began to move. Then, about 15 minutes later, I asked my wife of 47 years who was inside the house to help discern this unusual light with me. At the exact moment she walks onto the porch area and looks upward, a Star Link night-train went by which was a first for us both. That sighting was followed by a lone, regular satellite, with both going northwest. The iPad documents my wife confirming bright light's movement, to three directions and returning. By then I remark, "We have a probable UFO." My arms, at 71 years of age, got tired of filming attempts and I switched to binoculars. I could see the bright light that blended in with Milky Way was seemingly channeling a lone line of smaller lights, which reminded me of trout fish being shot through a plastic tube by natural resource workers. Whichever way the bright light went, so too did the celestial tube of smaller lights as if it was windy so high above. Considering recent CMEs, the heavens may have been volatile. My wife got cold and went inside. I followed and there was a feeling of content. No need to set-up digital camera with zoom lens. We knew what we saw were not stars. Our observations were Facebook-posted last night and revised today. Please review the details given there. The video isn't the best, but if there's a video editor app that can stabilize and distinguish between my shakes and that of a moving UFO, any recommendations appreciated. My wife and I have had previous encounters with UFOs, with a chapter of our 2-night 1980 encounter in Black Eagle Child, Univ. of Iowa Press, 1992. Last night's bright moving light was my wife's fourth sighting whereas mine was the 6th since 1968.

Ask for the records
What would the paper say?
For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
