Sphere over Chelsea, OK

A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.

The report, as filed

At approximately 5:15 am CST a bright glowing spherical object crossed the southern sky fom west to east at high rate of speed. Then just disappeared, covering roughly half the distance of the southern horizon. Roughly in same visual plane as the moon. Latitude 36.546108 Longitude -95.382622 I was walking out to car to go to work and looked upto look at the moon, and saw a very bright sphere white light traverse the southern sky in a straight line. I called out to my wife who stepped out further into the driveway and she saw it as well. The object appeared to have a slightly magnetic like side to side movement to it.it was very bright, then just disappeared like someone turned out a light switch. It did not look like a meteor or airplane. No trailing line of light or blinking lights. No aircraft visible in the vicinity at the time.

Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #168804). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

Ask for the records

What would the paper say?

For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
