Light over Las Brisas, CA
A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.
The report, as filed
We were having dinner facing the beach at night. It was so dark, all one could see was stars and helicopters/planes flying by. A ufo with a bright light flew by at a much faster speed than an airplane or helicopter. As if flew by, it suddenly “disappeared” or the lights turned off mid air. We have seen shooting stars or falling stars before and it definitely was NOT that. Coincidently, an airplane was flying above us at the same time so we knew it could not have been a plane. Very shocking and exciting at the same time.
Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #162032). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

What would the paper say?
For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
