Sphere over West Fenwick Island, DE
A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.
The report, as filed
I walked outside looked at southwest sky and saw this huge red orb, no sound at all. I called for my mom and we both saw it move backwards slowly no sound, no red, blue or white blinking aircraft lights. It moved slowly northwest and became smaller. Then turned and began slowly moving west and it just vanished. No sounds at all and there were no other aircraft anywhere. It was so close to me when I first saw it but when I yelled for my mom to come out it backed away a little. I have seen orbs before but nothing this vivid and close. Only 1 huge red orb or sphere. So bright nothing else could be seen on sphere. It was in the black night sky.
Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #158785). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

What would the paper say?
For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
