Light over Knoxville, IA

A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.

The report, as filed

Me and a co worker were outside discussing certain events in politics and stuff. He proceeds to tell me that that is only star he has seen tonight so I look up and I responded that is no star it was slowly moving across the sky an orange yellowish light and then it vanished. So when I got off work I told my wife and she proceeded to tell me that around the same hour she saw a bright white light do the same. She said she didn't think was a helicopter or anything because it did not make any noise.

Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #158818). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

Ask for the records

What would the paper say?

For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
