Light over Sarnia (Canada), ON · Canada

A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.

The report, as filed

Saw a small light - looked like a small star coming from west. Thought it was a satellite. As it travelled east and got to the area of the sky where big dipper is, 2 bright flashes of light came from the big dipper area of the sky and the light proceeded then disappeared in the area of the big dipper part of the sky. We continued to watch a total of 4 of these star-like lights come from the west and 2 slightly from SW, for a total of 6, each disappearing when they got to the big dipper area of the sky. The 3rd one became very bright with an expanded halo of light just before it disappeared into the big dipper section of the sky. Typically, we don't see 6 satellites all within a minute of each other and their speed and slightly wobbly movements dispel that possibility. There were no other lights such as a plane would have and no sound. We feel we witnessed something extraordinary.

Exactly 10:15 pm, driving east on highway, with 2 other cars ahead and 1 behind. It was hot, muggy, humid with patches of fog in air. A flash of light straight ahead which was about 1-2 miles ahead, was thought to be lightning was brief, then light lit up the right side of road ahead of cars, and lasted longer around 3 mins. It was a brilliant white light which cut through the haze and fog, with a focal point that showed it was landing or hovering, and was gone as fast as it appeared. It was out of the ordinary, the area was on the outskirts of city, trees, bush and farm along the highway, the two cars put on brakes ahead, and stopped as light appeared. Therefore, they must of noticed how strange this light appeared. Also, I slowed to a stop, and car behind. After incident all cars turned left and continued onto city, without investigating including self. Shrugged it off as lightning in that brief period, until reached home when a strange feeling that witnessed a rare event was convinced it was unidentified, as to the reactions of other drivers also.

2 large red orbs came into my view above a tree. They moved together in the same direction. NE to south. They were in view for less than a minute. 2 more came into view from same location as first two. They travelled the same direction. The final 2 of 6 in total moved the same in formation. They were like a star with a huge glowing red aura. All lasted less than 5 minutes. Witness elects to remain totally anonymous; provides no contact information. PD

I was in my back yard on the date and time specified to have a smoke. I caught something bright in the corner of my eye very high in the sky. As I was looking at it, it started to fade. There were a few light clouds in the area but sky was basically clear. I did however thought it was star that got covered by the few clouds. I kept watching anyway and there was a really bright flash and I could actually see an object fly of to east at a high rate of speed. It looked sort of oval with faint lights outlining only half of each oval. Sorry not good at explaining. It made a curve at first and the flew straight until I lost site of it. I knew then this was not a star. But I do think there was more than one because after that one left there was 2 more flashes of light in the same spot I saw the first. But I could not make out if there was any movement after those flashes. This is the first time I have ever reported anything like this. But I thought maybe there migh! t be a logical explanation.

My wife and I were both outside on our patio, watching an approaching storm that was fast approaching from the west. Out of the corner of my eye I noticed a round object moving across the sky no higher than 75 to a 100 feet up. It was dark in color, made no sound , and it was not a balloon. It moved in a straight line, in a south to north direction. With the the strong winds blowing in from the west and switching to the east, there was no way this was a balloon floating across the sky. It kept the the same speed, height, and just went straight across the sky. I have been in the Military and am quite familiar with my aircraft. I can honestly say I have never seen this kind of craft before.

My wife and I were sitting on our balcony, eighth floor of our apartment building, watching a storm approaching, and took out our 8X40 binoculars to watch the lightening in the distance, and the hawks and other birds soaring over Canatara Park (which is right across from our apartment building). Our balcony faces due East; and our coordinates are N 43.00184 X W -82.40941. We then noticed a couple of birds flying much higher in elevation than we normally see - there were storm cells developing in the area to the South of us, so likely some updrafts for them to ride. Suddenly, Lynn noticed, over the lake (Huron), a small object (once again, with her naked eye) and attempted to find it with the binoculars. She did, and it appeared to her as a hat shaped object with rounded corners, but just barely discernible - perhaps only a millimeter or two in size if held at arm’s length. This object was pretty much due NE (45 degrees true North) from our position, and approximately 40 degrees up from the horizon. She handed the binoculars to me (I could not find nor see the object with my naked eye) and instructed me to follow a certain cloud pattern upwards to find the object. I did, and watched it for several minutes, until my arms got tired. It did not move at all, appearing to hover motionless in the sky above the lake below. Not knowing the size of the object, I have no idea how far away it was, though we both had the idea that it was a great distance away. Being so small, we could not detect colors, and it did not have any lights on it that we could see. We took turns watching it through the binoculars, but eventually the cloud cover (shifting from south-to-north) obscured our vision and we lost sight of it after about 30 minutes.
