Le 21 janvier 2020, aux environs de 16h45/17h00, le témoin aperçoit par sa fenêtre, un objet de couleur sombre. En dessous de cet objet, bien plus bas, il observe quatre bandes horizontales de couleurs différentes (rouge, vert, bleu et peut-être jaune pour la quatrième, sans certitude). Le témoin fait une photo du phénomène, alors que l'objet continue d'évoluer dans le ciel, animé de mouvements tournants selon un axe vertical, jusqu’à la tombée de la nuit. Le cas est de bonne consistance : présence d’une photo et très bonne qualité du témoignage (voir le compte rendu d'enquête). En cherchant à comprendre ce qu’il a vu, le témoin trouvera l’explication : un cerf-volant présent à la Pépinière (quartier de Belfort) et muni d’une caméra Go Pro.
