As reported

Light over Highway (Canada), AB · Canada

A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.

The report, as filed

stopped off highway commute from canmore to calgary, spur road at Kananaskis river, standing behind car pissing, facing west looking up at clear night sky, spotted movement, a satellite, but no, I spot another right behind it, never seen two together, ... and another and another... they keep coming from the extreme north of my perspective moving in a straight line south. There are seven all exactly equally spaced and finally an eighth at roughly twice the distance from the 7th. Traveling at a leisurely pace. No sign of acceleration, no noise, no emissions, nothing spectacular. These are not aircraft, they are above the atmosphere, lit by the sun... cannot see any detail, appear to be the size of stars or planets, no color. they appeared as bright stars, too bright, as bright as the planets appear on average, anyone who has looked at a night sky more than once knows what I mean. By the time the eight one is abreast of my location looking due west, the first is fading in the far left (south)of my perspective, in less than 3 minutes (?) it is all over. I tried to video with my phone. There is nothing, just black, good phone, crappy camera.

Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #153157). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

Ask for the records

What would the paper say?

Canadian military and radar records answer to the Access to Information Act; historic UFO files are held by Library and Archives Canada. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
