Light over Harrisburg, MO
A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.
The report, as filed
There are no clouds in sight tonight. I walked outside and saw a white light in the southeast moving east. It wasn't flashing at all and quickly vanished out of sight. The light seemed to get smaller and vanished on a clear night.
Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #148035). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

What would the paper say?
For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.

I watched it for 10 seconds as it flew in a straight line. After that I noticed it moving side to side slowly, instead of a straight line. I ran inside to have my girlfriend take a look to make sure I wasn't crazy. She saw the light I was looking at and we both watched it slowly dim to a smaller light and disappear. It did not vanish behind a cloud instantly.
