My two friends and I went out to a camping trip behind the Oregon Mountains in Las Cruces, New Mexico, during the summer of 2019. My friends and I were star gazing when I and another noticed a faint red light appear out of nowhere in the night sky. The degree to which the light was dim suggested that the object was at a vast distance from the surface of the earth. I noticed a beam of red light protruding from the object; the overall shape of the anomaly was reminiscent to the shuttlecock used in the sport badminton. This object was not static, instead it moved in multiple directions within the small region of space that it occupied. This anomaly reminded me of a deep-ocean ROV examining a shipwreck as it seemed like the object was examining something that neither I or anyone else could see. Eventually we lost the anomaly within the sea of stars. Unfortunately the light was so dim that our phone cameras couldn't possibly have captured it.
