Light over Westbloomfield, MI

A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.

The report, as filed

I was going to the store and looked up in the sky before getting in my car to see a single light, no blinking lights like on planes or helicopters, zoom past me overhead. I got in my car and followed it on my way to the store. Had no sense of scale for how big or fast the object was moving. It made zero sound, I tried hard to listen for helicopter blades but there were none, nor was there any sound from engines or turbulence. The object made a quick bank to the right almost completely horizontally, and then back to the left before altering it's original course. Why would a plane or helicopter change course and have no blinking lights and make no sound? If I were a pilot i would go straight to my destination, not bank to the right, then the left, then alter my course, it makes no sense.

Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #147587). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

Ask for the records

What would the paper say?

For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
