Light over Franklin-Alvadore, OR
A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.
The report, as filed
Walking outside my home towards the South this morning at 2:50 AM (11 July 2019,) I observed a bright "white" light (same appearance as a close planet) almost overhead but slightly towards the Southern Sky. Unknown to any movement it only appeared as a star or a close planet. Usually Saturn or Jupiter is in the lower southern sky (object was about that same size and brightness), but it was late enough that they had moved west behind some trees. I wasn't familiar with such a bright light at that angle so as I got down on flat ground and stopped and observed.. the light was now gone. I noticed some haze in the atmosphere, I'm sure that whatever it was I saw.. it was not being covered by clouds. It was much more "Dim" and moving directly South. 5-10 seconds then I lost sight of it. At that point, the object appeared to be just a satellite. Same basic speed, same basic size and brightness in the night sky. It wasn't moving fast enough to leave the horizon but it still disappeared.
Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #147490). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

What would the paper say?
For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
