Sphere over Vernon Rockville, CT
A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.
The report, as filed
While watching the fireworks for July in the Sky in front of a church lawn, I saw a bright light in the corner of my eyes. I looked up to the right of the fireworks going on and saw a huge circle/sphere of a bright white light. It was way too large to be a star. Many others looked up and were amazed at what the object could be. It stayed visible about 30 seconds, then disappeared completely. It came back in same spot as if a light switch (on and off, and on). Then the grand finale began for the fireworks show, and the sphere/circle of light disappeared then in the same spot three tiny green lights in the shape of a triangle appeared where the orb was. The three triangle light began to move bling on and off in a zig zag pattern away from the fireworks for about 3 minutes, then stayed in one spot blinking on and off about every 3 seconds in one spot as if watching/analyzing the fireworks maybe? I went to watch the end of the show and then when I looked back the lights were there and disappeared. Never seen again. Could not have been a plane moving so fast in direct zig zag motions. Never seen anything like that before.
Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #147247). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.
Ask for the records
What would the paper say?
For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
