Disk over St. Louis (city), MO

A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.

The report, as filed

While visiting the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, MO, I took several photos of the Arch, landscape, family and overall views. While shooting pictures of my son drinking from a water fountain, a large US flag over a nearby building caught my eye so shot a picture of it, to then return to a couple more photos of my son. Two weeks later, back at home, while reviewing the photos, there is a white unidentified object behind the flag, white in color and what seems a very classical disk. At the time I didn't see any object with my eyes of the optical viewfinder of the camera. If I seen the object I would have shot a burst and tried to track it as long as possible. We see nothing in the photo, which is terribly out of focus. PD

Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #146659). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

Ask for the records

What would the paper say?

For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
