Light over Tideswell · United Kingdom
A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.
The report, as filed
17 lights, spaced fairly evenly apart, all travelling on the same trajectory. There may have been more, I counted 17 from noticing the first one. Brought the wife outside to witness as well. All 17 continued ins straight line, at a steady pace until they disappeared in the distance. As the last one was crossing the sky, a shooting star came over in the opposite direction. Very odd, could have been military aircraft, but 17 is quite a lot. We’re there any large scale military manoeuvres over the UK at this time?
Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #151291). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

What would the paper say?
UK sighting reports were handled by the MoD's UFO desk until 2009; later records answer to the Freedom of Information Act 2000, earlier files sit at the National Archives. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
