Sphere over Old Town, ME
A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.
The report, as filed
Orange-colored sphere, flew silently over my house at an altitude of approximately 500 feet. No noise, seemed to be enveloped in a “haze” that resembled heat-waves on the pavement during a hot day. As the object was directly overhead, the light “powered off” and the sphere slowed-down. It was now a metallic-sphere with no light. A light-haze now enveloped the craft. I ran along the driveway watching it. Suddenly, it was just gone. Dogs were barking all over the area.
Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #146094). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.
Ask for the records
What would the paper say?
For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
