Light over Smethwick, BIRMINGH · United Kingdom

A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.

The report, as filed

White rounds dots in the sky first thought it was a shooting star, then 5 more round lights passed in the same direction from right to left traveling at down ward angle with the same distance between the lights maybe 10 meters apart from each other I'm not sure. The lights were moving faster then areoplanes that's why I thought it was a shooting star first. There was a smaller round light that was a orange colour that was still and it seemed like it was watching/ waiting for the other lights to pass it by I thought it was a small star first but when the last light flew past it the orange light followed the same path as the others except it was higher up.

Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #155509). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

What would the paper say?

UK sighting reports were handled by the MoD's UFO desk until 2009; later records answer to the Freedom of Information Act 2000, earlier files sit at the National Archives. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
