Disk over May's Landing, NJ
A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.
The report, as filed
While passing the Lenape Lake, we saw a glowing object in the sky that seemed go be in the shape of a trapezoid. We turned around because of this odd sighting and we were very confused and interested. After turning around in the same area we saw an object hovering then moving very slowly and then just disappear infront of our eyes. The object had lights as if an airplane but not flashing strobe. As a pilot that would be protocol for something that low altitude but this had a steady light only two with one on each side. The sky conditions were clear so it couldn't be played into factor.
Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #146549). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

What would the paper say?
For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
