The report, as filed
A flash of light, much brighter and larger than Sirius, the brightest star in the night sky. The location was along the straight line passing through the stars Procyon and Sirius but approximately 5 degrees above the horizon. The light lasted about 2 seconds and did not move or reappear in the next hour. It was very bright, much larger than a plane nearby. White is color with a darker center.
