Red lights in irregular string formation, converging to small group, lights were irregular flash but synchronized as they formed group, being chased by helicopter with search light, approx 4-6k ft altitude, completing to circular routes with helicopter in tow. once out of sight (inc helicopter) a jets engine could be heard taking off from nearby RAF Lakenheath. i could hear the helicopter but no other noises of aircraft or engine.
