The report, as filed
I was outside looking at the stars giving God praise for his creation and right above the tree line off of frost rd, I see a white light/fireball similar to a shooting star, appear suddenly, then shoot downward disappearing behind the tree line. Immediately, I started hearing a lot of animals becoming restless, perhaps my senses were heightened. Also, not seconds afterwards a helicopter began closing the distance from the opposite direction. Took a picture of the moon with an object below it. I thought the object may be a star or planet. The shape looked to be oval to round and gold, beige in color. I did not see it with my naked eye after taking the shot. [NUFORC annotation: Planet/Star - Possible]

Sitting around with my girlfriend’s family around 1040 in the night on Massapoag Pond. We were facing north, when we noticed an orange red ball/orb that was very bright. We first thought it might be a plane on fire but it had no tail or trail of smoke. It was completely silent and moved about ten feet from the tree tops. Moving in a west to east path. it appeared to be moving in a straight line, then hooked to the right towards an out cropping of land on the lake. It look like it landed in the woods or disappeared. We were all trying to comprehend what we saw. About 10 minutes after we sat back down and I noticed another orange orb now coming from behind us above the tree line. This time higher then the previous one. I am guessing it was higher as it was a little smaller. Same silent travel, moving a steady pace, and moving towards the location of the previous orb. Once it was near that location it disappeared. The light did not fade it just went black. I was first thinking it was a parachute flare but it didn’t have the appearance of a burning flare. One person thought it was a piece of space debris and another a comet. My response was there wasn’t a tail or trail following these orbs. I’m not sure what we saw last night and I haven’t been able to find any others that have seen them. I was able to get a picture of the second orb. It just looks like a dot on the screen. So I guess the eight of us will have to figure it out. Witness elects to remain totally anonymous; provides little contact information. PD
