Light over Orange County, VT

A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.

The report, as filed

As I was looking to the South, I noticed a bright flash of light about 20 degrees above the horizon. At first I thought it was an iridium solar panel flashing up, but the star like light source went from bright to a medium dim over a second or so, then the same thing happened another 20 degrees or so above the previous light source, doing the same thing. Then a few seconds later I noticed the same thing directly to the West about 40 degrees above the horizon. All of these sources of light stayed stationary and dimmed from a medium brightness to a very low over five or so minutes, but it was hard to tell with fog and cloud cover coming over the valley. Witness elects to remain totally anonymous; provides no contact information. PD

Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #135442). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

Ask for the records

What would the paper say?

For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
