Light over Swanville, ME

A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.

The report, as filed

Spouse and I saw white light that was brighter than a star and got alternatively brighter and dimmer. This caught our attention and we watched it for roughly 30 minutes until it drifted below the tree line. The light was at times notably brighter than Venus. The light appeared to move eratically and randomly in a jerky manner. Don't know what it was but pretty confident it was not a star or planet. When it moved over the horizon I got the sense it was moving away from me in a direction northeast from Swanville, Maine. Witness elects to remain totally anonymous; provides no contact information. PD

Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #132754). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

Ask for the records

What would the paper say?

For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
