Flash over Anchor Point, AK

A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.

The report, as filed

Two close groups of flashing lights are in view about 15 to 20 degrees aboce the horizon to the west northwest of the Anchor River Airpark in Anchor Point. Each cluster has continuous white flashing lights with intermittent red and green flashing lights. At first it looked like an on coming aircraft, however it did not appear to be moving. There is no sound. Time 10:10 flashing lights remain, may be slowly moving in a more northerly direction at the same elevation. 10:30 Gradual movement to the north and lower on the horizon appears to be more distant.

Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #130501). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

Ask for the records

What would the paper say?

For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
