Light over Greenwood Lake, NJ

A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.

The report, as filed

We had a fire on the beach of Greenwood Lake on the border of New York State and New Jersey. We saw three bright blue lights flying in formation resembling a triangle with one light trailing behind the group. The three lights that were in formation realigned themselves as a straight line with one light circling another. The trailing light took off in a different direction then later continued to follow the other three lights. The lights were moving at a high rate of speed and traveling at an altitude greater than 5000 feet (estimate).

Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #129837). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

Ask for the records

What would the paper say?

For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
