The report, as filed

On August 26, 2016, at 19:31 hours, I was driving north in the right lane on I-39 going around Stevens Point, traveling about 69 mph. Where this sighting occurred, I-39 is actually going in an East-West direction. There was no precipitation and relatively clear sky. The sun would soon be setting at about the 9 o’clock position to my car. The distant trees and buildings on the south side of the road in this location would block the sun from coming into my car. I noticed at about the 11 o’clock position, there was an intensely bright white round-shaped object about 600’ away and moving relatively slow in an easterly direction about 25’ above the ground. When I noticed it, it appeared to be about 20” in diameter and just beyond the south side of the road. It then dipped down, then up to about 40’ above the ground, greatly picking up speed as it then curved to the North/NE and passed over the ‘south-bound’ lanes. As it moved over the approximately 50’ of median plus road shoulders it dipped downward coming directly towards my car and hitting the middle of my windshield, glancing off, and continuing NE in a straight line. As it hit it made a very loud, heavy ‘dunk’ sound followed by a ‘clink’. From my right side window, I saw it go straight to the NE and then was out of my sight. At the moment of impact, from the loud sound I had braced for the windshield to break apart or at the very least be cracked. To my amazement it didn’t break ! apart. I continued approximately two miles to my destination and examined the windshield. I could not find a single trace of anything on it: no breakage, cracks, or smudges of any type. When I first saw the object, I thought it was a large bird. However, as I continued to watch it as it crossed the south-bound lanes and get closer, it appeared to diminish to about 6” in diameter with what appeared to be a heavy 6” tail like that of a comet’s dust tail by the time it hit my car. I don’t know if it actually had a heavy ‘dust trail’ or if that was my brain trying to track its movement. I do know that with it coming within 24” of my face there were no wings, feathers, beak, eyes, feet, or anything remotely resembling a bird or of any other color: Just a very intense white ball-shape. In addition, when fowl or animals hit a vehicle, they usually hit with a ‘thud’ sound due to the compression of soft tissue. And a bird’s beak usually hits before or during impact, not afterward and usually has a different sound other than the ‘clink’ I heard. Plus there will usually be some type of smudge or residue on the glass. I was very puzzled by whatever it was that I saw and hit my windshield, but since there was no damage done, I chalked it up to being ‘unknown’. That changed October 22, 2016, with a similar sighting at night. October report filed separately.

At first it seemed like a deflated weather balloon twisting in the wind. When I zoomed in… either the camera went out of focus (I can’t tell) or the object suddenly evaporated and then pulled itself back together. You can hear me say in the video “is that a weather balloon?” It was moving quickly across the sky though and it wasn’t rising. I had trouble keeping up with it. What was most odd is its shape. Not exactly the shape of a balloon. It wasn’t perfectly round. I figured it would fall if it were deflated. [NUFORC annotation: Balloon - Possible]

While walking my dog around 10-11pm in a residential neighborhood, the sky was incredibly clear and stars were bright. Looking South down the road, I could see the usual street light in the far distance. Glancing up, I noticed two bright pulsing balls of light just above the horizon or tree line. At first, I didn’t think much of it, but then noticed the lights were much larger than anything I’ve seen before, and they were slowly ascending and getting smaller in the night sky. Regrettably, I had a dog pulling me by leash in one hand and a flashlight in my other hand. I wanted to get my mobile phone out to take a picture or video, but it all happened so fast. Within 30 seconds or so, the glowing or pulsing bright white lights rose higher into the atmosphere and then suddenly, there was a starburst flash a bit higher and to the right of them and they both disappeared. This may sound stupid, but it was almost like something out of Star Trek when the Enterprise goes into WARP speed and disappears. To be honest, it looked identical to what they captured on video during the filming of The Secrets of Skinwalker Ranch. I don’t recall the exact episode, but there was a single white pulsing orb that disappeared with a similar starburst effect. I’ve never seen anything like this in my entire life, but they were clearly not airplanes or any other objects I’ve see in the night sky. My biggest regret is not dropping the flashlight to get out my mobile phone to capture photographic or video evidence of the event.

On several nights in late August and early September myself and several neighbors observed a craft near our homes. The vehicle hovered silently. It's shape was that of a disk with a dome in the middle. Along the disk length was a row of white lights, while the center dome shifted between red, green, and blue light. Comparing the sighting with sky charts proved it was not any known celestial object; it was in the area of the constellation of Bootes on our northwest horizon. My neighbor noted that, on the night of September the first, it was hovering in the west, and quickly zipped to the northwest, near Seginus, around the time I came outside. It remained hovering and color shifting while I recorded it. Since Bootes moved beyond our horizon, I have not spotted it again.

Driving in my car along a populated road coming into town when I saw THREE BRIGHT WHITE LIGHTS in a mid size arc or triangle formation. Following the craft it appeared to be no more than 5,000 - 10,000 feet of the ground, making the craft look very large. After following the craft for about 10 minutes it eventually turned and pointed West before disappearing while leaving a blur of its white lights visible. A few minutes after a craft with two red lights -which I believe is a military craft- flying west towards where the white light craft was. I was definitely not alone in this sighting. It was moving through a populated area and thief were other cars also following the craft with me.

As I walked to my car after leaving work, something caught my attention. I was looking directly south up into the sky and noticed 4 balls of orange light, about the same color as a street light far into the distance and high in elevation. The clouds around them could be seen from the light they cast, as it looked like they were sitting atop a bank of clouds looking over the surroundings. Three of the lights were in vertical formation and the other was offset behind them to my left. The offset one disappeared, followed by the three in formation simontaniously. It was like once I noticed them, they disappeared. They looked to be off in the distance of Plainfiel, WI, or even further south. The only other outworldly thing I have seen was too in this direction of Plainfield. The lights seemed to act in a similar way as the ones I saw over a year ago but this time is was at night and they were orange instead of bright white.
