Sphere over Corinna, ME
A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.
The report, as filed
On the way home from a trip around Central/Western Maine, I was driving North on Route 7 from Newport to Corinna, I noticed a silver object in the sky, tracking from East to West, about 10 miles away across the horizon. The weather was sunny and clear and the object seemed to reflect the sun. I watched the object for a few seconds and the best way I could describe it was it "faded away" in the direction it was headed. I didn't see it again after that. I also noticed multiple jet trails in the sky before and after the incident but didn't notice one coming from the object.
Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #129430). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.
Ask for the records
What would the paper say?
For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
