Sphere over Joshua Tree National Park, CA

We were driving west on Park Blvd., heading towards Keys View Road, near Ryan Mountain Trail head, when the driver of the car and I both saw a round/spherical silver floating object in the sky. It looked exactly like it was made from some sort of metal, reflecting the bright sunlight. It looked to be about 20-30 feet above us--relatively close, not off in the distance. I would describe it as a small craft--3 feet wide at most. It didn’t seem to move, just float. Most certainly NOT a drone. We both saw the object very clearly, before it disappeared in a second or two. We immediately pulled the car over and got out, but it was nowhere to be seen. It was there one second and gone the next. Either moving too quickly for the human eye to see, cloaking itself, or disappearing completely from that spot. I’ve seen several things out of the ordinary in the desert sky, but nothing as clear as this. There is no doubt in my mind that the object we saw is not from Earth. Both myself and the other observer have excellent eyesight, open minds, and are very good a picking up on details that others often overlook. I believe we were both looking in the right direction at the right time and ended up witnessing something that was hiding in plain sight.
