Disk over Palm Springs, AZ
A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.
The report, as filed
My wife and I were visiting J. W. Marriott resort in Palm Springs California. After we had lunch, we strolled around the outside area just east of the lake they had. My wife posed for a few pictures and I shot five pictures of the resort with the mountains in the distance. After I finished taking pictures, I looked at the ones just taken. About 1:11pm, according to the built in timer on the photos. Much to my surprise, one of the pictures had an image I immediately showed my wife. I asked her, what do you think this is at the top upper portion in the sky? Both my wife and I cannot explain it. There was no reflection we could ascertain that would have made this appear in the picture. The short time only seemingly caught on the picture. If this was real, I cannot explain it. I can forward you the picture if you respond to me.
Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #126529). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.
Ask for the records
What would the paper say?
For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
