Disk over Albuquerque, NM

A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.

The report, as filed

Proceeding south on Coors BLVD, at approximately 0856L, a comment was made by me to my son on how the light glinting off the hot air balloon against the clouds would makes good photo. My son took the shot and one more then sent them to me. Later when I pulled up his text to see how it came out, I noticed the disk-shaped object above the balloon. I enlarged it as much as my phone would allow. It appears the object has mass and a well-defined rim. The rim appears to have texture. The shape is disk-like and thicker in the middle than on the edges. Toward the center on the underside there appears to be a circular area lighter in color. I am retired military and my son is in retail. When I viewed the photo the first time I was at the car dealership waiting for my car to be serviced. I have not yet looked at it on my home computer. The photo was taken with a phone from the front seat of the car. (( With permission from the witness, we sent her photos to a person who is skilled at photo-analysis. We share his comments below, and we expect to continue working on the issue: COMMENT FROM PHOTO-ANALYST: Peter, Just started on this a moment ago. First impressions: 1. EXIF file shows it is not an authentic raw camera file. 2. Multiple points of inconsistency, indicating it is an overlay. 3. Object appears to have been superimposed. 4. Balloons have been cut and pasted. I will continue digging into this, however, it does seem with one point alone, (see blue sky underneath the object were it should have been blocked by object), deems it a Photoshop overlay. END ADDENDUM)) ADDENDUM #2 FROM MOTHER TO WITNESS OF ALLEGED SIGHTING)) I’m embarrassed. My son used an app to generate the pictures. I have no idea how he’s going to pay me for this one but I’ll go at it slowly. As for me, in addition to my most abject apology, I ask you how I might make it up to you? I’m so very angry in addition to my mortification. I had asked him early on if he was using an app but he didn’t respond. He was at work so I thought he was busy. Sometime in the middle of the day he sent me another photo. Later in the afternoon, I had the chance to look at it and I think it is after your call telling me you said it was most likely an overlay, and found it was strange both pictures had the “UFO” at the same angle and the same amount of the vehicle was showing. Later even I looked at the third photo and it was the same as the others. When I picked up my son, he admitted his “joke”. My son has no idea how this affected me. He doesn’t know what I’ve seen and wouldn’t believe me if he did. Actually, I wouldn’t either if I hadn’t been with a person who was not connected to me in any way. I’m not afraid, sir, I’m respectful of the information and implications. These are real events that deserve careful research and consideration. Now I hope you understand a little better the gravity of my apology. My son and I will have a conversation when I’m ready. But I still owe you, Mr. Davenport. Regards, name deleted)) END ADDENDUM))

What would the paper say?

For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.

Was watering plants in back yard saw light above/south in the sky moving east from the west. Did not look like any plane or military aircraft. Had no noise. Called a friend outside to take a look at it with me. He did not know what it was. I went inside and grabbed my bird watching binoculars and looked at it some more. It had no shape just a round light but on the back of it there was a stick like protrusion at a 45 degree angel. It looked like a folded up umbrella or a parachute that failed to inflate. The protrusion seemed very rigid and did not change shape. It was headed SE over KAFB or four hills and I saw it emit a spray in a round shape like a smoke ring. In a slightly down ward angle. The spray/emission was much bigger then the light that produced it. I then proceeded to access my roof (took one min)to get a better view and it was gone. [NUFORC annotation: Rocket - Probable]

Decided while on vacation to go back up the mountains at Arches National Park, to star gaze. I have a video, but don't know how to upload it here.

Me and my fiancé decided to walk to the gas station for some late night snacks and as we were walking, I had noticed something strange in the clouds. We both looked up and started to pay attention and as we were looking at it, we noticed that it wouldn’t come out from behind the clouds and no matter what formation the clouds would move to, the light would follow it. It was literally just going around and around above us but we could easily tell it was a spotlight nor was it a drone because it was way too high up there. I’ve never seen anything like that before. It was moving so fast that it was hard to keep up with honestly until you saw it coming towards you again.

I work grave yard shifts. I went outside to take a break. I noticed what I first assumed was one of those advertising spotlights off to the west of me. The light made a half circle, stopped for about 5 seconds, then returned back to it's starting point, where it stopped again for 5 seconds . It traced a half circle once again stopped for another 5 seconds then moved off in a southeast direction until it disappeared from sight. After about 20 seconds I looked over my right shoulder and saw that it was back behind my right shoulder. It was back behind me long enough for me to grab my phone and set the camera to video mode. It began moving northwest until it came back to the original spot where I first noticed it. During the time I was observing it, it made no sound. The object began to move back in a southeasterly direction again while I "filmed" it. It continued in that direction until it was no longer visible and did not return. Of course when I checked the video there was nothing recorded, so either I did not start the video correctly or my phone malfunctioned.

While walking my dogs late Thursday night, the sky was clear as usual. I normally look for certain constellations during these late night walks. I noticed that Mars was extremely brighter/closer as usual. Then I noticed the star changed its color to green. The color alternated from red to green then started to drop from the sky, descending completely vertically until I could no longer view it from behind a home (street level). The drop was rapid in a straight line which seemed impossible for a jet to accomplish unless it was in a nose dive crash. I pulled out my cellular phone and recorded the descent.
