The report, as filed
It will be two years ago this September. When the weather is nice, I put a foam rubber pad in the back of my pick-up truck with a sleeping bag and sleep out under the stars. It was about 10:00 pm mountain time. I was laying on my back looking up at the stars when I saw a bright white flash of light directly overhead. There was absolutely no sound. It was the equivalent of a flash camera at about 40’ away. A couple of seconds later, there was a second flash of light in the same area of the sky. Again, there was absolutely no sound. Then I saw a dimly lit elliptical shaped object, bluish in color, move out to the east at a moderate speed. The object was visible for about two full seconds, then it went dark.
